My first thought was have you tried organic fruits and veggies? Maybe it's not the veggies/fruits themselves, but the pesticides and gunk.

Yes, either what Veganforlife suggested OR...it could be that your s-i-l is very toxic. I have a good friend who told me a similar thing regarding herself...that her body is SO toxic that she can't eat any fruit or veg without it coming right back up. Her body rejects it. This is not the fault of the fruit or veg, but rather it's from years of her eating a horrible diet and she is also ailing with many different sicknesses.

Probably one of the best things to do is fast and that is touchy because it's always suggested that one not do a fast (TRUE, water fast) without supervision.

She could also look into doing some colon/bowel cleansing as a start either through herbal cleansers, colonics or enemas at home. This may begin to help flush out some of the toxins in her system that are causing this reaction to her eating natural foods.

Then, she can try introducing mild things to her body...maybe an apple or something or perhaps green smoothies with one type of fruit and one green...not sure. But she needs to detox and get cleaned out.

I agree with Rawkinlocs and Veganforlife. I at one point thought I was having a reaction to grapes but I think it was the pesticides because I've recently taken a sip of fresh made grape juice from the jucier and I didn't have a reaction it was organic grapes by the way.

I also think a cleanse would probably be most helpful.

I wonder if there is anyone on the board that had an allergy to fruit and Veg.

My MIL can not eat anything fresh either. I would love to hear about your SIL's experiences if she decides to try to pursue raw foods.

With my MIL it is because she has collected medications her entire life. It's like some kind of sick hobby and I am afraid that it is finally catching up with her. So what does she do? Got to another doctor for the latest pill. UGH!

I used to be allergic to many fresh fruits--not all though. At some time or another I was allergic to: apples, cherries, peaches, nectarines, and kiwi. The apples came first. When I was 9 or 10 I was at summer camp and one day bit into an apple and had a pretty severe reaction. I was itchy and red from my ears, eyes, nose, mouth, all the way down my throat. Hives all over my face. Out of NOWHERE. I had been eating apples my whole life and never had a problem. So after this I tried eating them without the skin, I tried eating organic, NOTHING. So I stopped eating apples for a while. Years went by and I tried having an apple again--still allergic. Well, THIS YEAR, I am suddenly not allergic anymore and now I eat them and I'm totally fine. Now, I used to get allergy shots for a number of things and I really feel that that helped, but I am not sure if that is something your sister-in-law would consider. As far as the other fresh fruits I am/have been allergic to, I haven't tried eating them in quite some time, so I'm not sure if they would be okay for me now or if I'd still have a reaction. I am always afraid to try something that I know I've been allergic to in the past, and if I do I make sure I have some Benadryl ready because you do NOT want to be me during an allergy attack lol.
