Dates

HI!

In Alissa's recipes, I want to try date nut torte....she says to soak the dates, but for how long? And I guess this is the same process as the nuts? Soak, dry, change water, soak again, store in water in fridge? Or, no storage....just soak and use?

Oh no, not anything that complicated. Dates get soft pretty quickly when soaked, an hour is ample time. Sometimes I just put them in warm water for a few minutes if I can't wait! :p

I made the date nut torte...It's delicious!!! Actually the 2y/o I made it for thought so too. :p

I soaked the dates for about 20 minutes and then put them in my processor.

If you're anything like me, and you go to soak your dates, and then forget about them half the day because you get so busy with other stuff, it'll still work if they've been soaked for what seems like forever too!;)
