Hi Everyone! My name is Sharon, and I am 41 years young! I live in Plano, Texas (a suburb of Dallas) with my husband and our 2 dogs.
Have been studying health and nutrition for about 15 years - it was mostly triggered by my little Yorkshire Terrier who is almost 16 now (she is my 'teacher' dog). She had health issues from a very early age - this was in my late 20's. After ignorantly following the vet's recommendations to the letter, I finally came to my senses and found an 'enlightened' holistic vet who helped me begin to understand 'true' health. Simply changing her diet to 'real' food and stopping all the drugs, chemicals, etc. completely turned her health around - it was truly amazing! This was a huge life lesson and the beginning of my journey. Experimenting with my dogs along the way with great results. Have been feeding the dogs raw for about 10 years - much easier and faster switching them than me! By the way, my other dog (Newfoundland) is only 18 months old - she is 3rd generation naturally reared and raw fed. Had to go all the way to Boston Massachusetts to get her!
Several years after the experience with my Yorkie, my Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer (caused in part by synthetic HRT), and my health/nutrition research escalated drastically. And continues to this day...
I feel so blessed to know this information that so many sadly do not. I love to help people who are searching for answers or simply want to transition to a more natural lifestyle.
I also tend to my organic garden, research way too much, work very hard trying to convince my sister who has a 5 year old that she needs to make GREEN SMOOTHIES everyday, and trying to convince my sister-in-law (a pharmacist) that the 'disease care' medical system is so much worse than she is willing to admit -but, she has come a long way in the past few years. I spend a lot of time and energy on helping my parents as well. I am very proud of them - they make GREEN SMOOTHIES everyday and do not take any drugs.
What a wonderful group of people on this forum! Have thoroughly enjoyed reading all of your helpful posts and have already tried several recipes that were a huge hit with my husband!!
Thanks for being here,
Sharon
