I was so pleased when I went for a bone scan recently.
I have been raw for 2 years, 3months, and just turned 50. Each year at my annual GYN exam, my dr asks how much calcium I take. He gets upset when I say I quit taking calcium when I went raw. I have 8 oz of green (Kale, collards, turnip greens, spinach) each day in my morning smoothie and a big romaine salad most days at lunch. He said I can't possibly get enough calcium on raw with no meat.
Had a car accident (a 14 yr old without a license, but luckily dad had insurance, ran a stop sign) a few weeks ago. Luckily, no one was hurt, but my hip hit the door and I had some back pain. Went to my chiropractor and he started with a bone scan, then x-rays, etc. My scan read 1.3. The baseline of healthy bones is 0 if I understood him correctly, and that was what the graph chart in his office showed. He was a little surprised because I told him I was raw and took no calcium, but very pleased and said so many women have some osteoporosis at my age. He's very supportive of the raw life also.
Just thought I would share - Raw Rocks!!!
