If I take Kelp for my hypothyroidism, I'm not certain how many mg daily I should take. Any tips? Thank you to those that offered links on my previous thryoid question(s). I still don't know how much might be too much to take of Kelp (idoine supplement) - I don't want to overdo it and become "hyper". Jennifer

Well, depending HOW you are going to ingest this. If sprinkling on salads, don't worry, you can't eat too much. Same if you're putting them in smoothies. I really don't think you can eat too much. It's not like a medicine.

I was wondering the exact same thing! I take kelp tablets....I probably have been taking a gram a day because I didn't read the label correctly

I take Modifilan

and dulse blended in my smoothies. At first I didn't like it. Now I crave it. I take about 1/2 a cup in the smoothie. I get it from realrawfood.com. It has helped me SO much with my thyroid..which helped with balancing my hormones. No more nasty migranes during my period. I also put Maca in my smoothies and that has also been very effective.

no prob. another raw fooder turned me onto the modifilan. I like it cause it says it's dried at low temps.

Lucy,
Will you give me the best recipe for a green smoothie? I look forward to trying one... I hope I like it! Thank you.

Hey Jennifer - I would say to start off with:
2 cups filtered water
a FEW leaves of greens, whether it's spinach, or romaine lettuce or leafy lettuce, just a couple leaves
fruits of your choice - like a banana, a pineapple slice or two, berries, etc. - fresh or frozen
Then blend that.
If you wanna get fancy, add some cacao powder (better in the morning if cacao keeps you awake.
Or add coconut to it. Experiment, have fun!
If you have a favorite fruit smoothie - add a couple green leaves to it. Then work your way up to more greens.
Make it taste good. You won't drink it if it doesn't.
