Hi, I'm Courtney. I've just joined.
May I ask a stupid question? (Sorry). On the raw food diet, are cooked grains like barley and oatmeal allowed?
Thanks.

No stupid questions Courtney!! We're all learning so never be concerned about asking -- ;)
there is no raw police looking over your shoulder - and it depends on how rigid and strict you chose to be about your lifestyle. Many are RAW/Vegan or Hi raw...
those of us that are 100% raw - do not eat cooked grains or oats or cooked anythings. You can sprout oat groats, and other grains and make wonderful things with them!
I also read the mana bread package the other day for the first time and it sounded like it is a raw product ~ but I do know many raw foodist don't eat it because of some of the ingredients (I'm not sure - but it might be a wheat product... I can't remember now...) anyway...
there are some AMAZING RECIPES for Onion bread (which isn't onion-y at all!) and Mediterranian bread and wonderful cracker recipes in alissas' book and also can be found right here on RFT. There is a banana up above you can use that to do a search for some of the bread recipes!
:D
