Hi....just wanted to share my experience.
I recently started going to a raw food potluck once a month held in members different homes. Victoria Boutenko is a friend to one of the girls that has the potluck. She's speaking in California so Elena had her over to share with us. It was very inspirational. She spoke on healing with greens. Mainly what we call "Weeds." Of course I bought her book "Green for Life". She broke everything down scientifically. Her daughter spoke of her experience of healing with green from the age of 8 years old. She and her brother has a book out directed for kids. She made us all a green drink with Dandelion. It will take getting use to. She stated in starting out, use more sweet fruits than greens, then start using more and more greens as you adjust to the taste. She gave us a whole list of the weeds we should be consumming. If you want the list I'll post them here. All in all, I had a great time. She's lots of fun, has a cute personality and is a very wise and spiritual woman.

Oh - how lucky! She, Alissa, and Revvell are on my "to meet one day list".
How cool!
Course I would have been drooling green smoothie all over myself upon meeting her....

Please posts the weeds that were recommended and any info you recall on what they're good for would be helpful as well. Thanks for sharing.

No...Not going to Berkeley. I spent my last 12.00 on her book. I even went on an empty tank. Talk about dedication....and unemployment!

Green smoothies can be stored for up to 3 days in frig. Also she stressed to rotate your greens. She says Chlorophyll is liquid sunshine energy which we get from greens and they get from sunshine.

List of greens/weeds/etc.

GREENS: arugula,asparagus,beet greens(tops),bok choy,broccoli,carrot tops,celery,chard,callard greens,edible floweres,endive,escarole,frisee,kale(3types),mizun a, mustard greens,radiccio,radish tops, romaine,green and red leaf lettuce(no iceberg or light leaf lettuce) and spinch

WEEDS: chickweed, clover, dandelion greens and flowers, lambsquarters, malva, miners lettuce, plantain, purslane, and stinging nettles

HERBS: aloe vera, baby dill,basil,cilantro,fennel,mint,parsley(3 types), peppermint leaves, and spearmint

SPROUTS: alfalfa,broccoli,clover,fenugreek,radish,and sunflower

Her book is great. GREEN for LIFE

I'm on the east coast, so my chances of meeting her are slim. I did just order Green for Life though and am anxiously waiting its arrival.

What a great treat! I have her book Green for Life and it is so wonderful. Thanks for posting the list of greens. I guess I don't think of asparagus as a green to add to my smoothy. I always think of grassy type things like parsley and kale and lettuces and spinach, etc. Interesting.

That's cool you got to meet her and try her smoothies! I'm going to the thing in Berkeley tonight and am really excited about it too. Thanks for posting that list...I need to eat more weeds! :D

You mentioned monthly potlucks... I live near San Jose too and would love to go to some of these! Is there a list or website or something where I can find out more? Thanks :)

I am ordering her book from Amazon. I didn't know you could make green smoothies and store them in the fridge for 3 days  I am going to save my gallon jugs for smoothies now. I always thought I had to make them fresh every time.
