Well, I have been to the Whole Foods twice now. I didn't have long to spend, but I got to talk to Rachel and Spencer for a while. Even found a parking place on the first level of the underground parking.

First, I sampled a whole bunch of stuff. The chocolate pudding is awesome...as are the Lemon balls.... The Flax Seed cookies were scrumptious.

Had some lasagne, marinated veggies, mashed potatoes, carrot salad, and a few other things. Tried the flax seed crackers with dried tomatoes (mmmm....) and enjoyed some secret stock ????olate ! ! !

Wow.....what an experience...me and the missus bought $24 worth of goodies which made up two meals each for both of us (ok...maybe 3 for the missus...). Tried some Goji Berries....mmmmmmm.

Spencer has a ton of information (He's 3 years raw). Also met a customer, George, who is planning on opening a Raw Food Restaurant, oxygen bar, pending getting some financial backing. (He has the building just needs to put it together).

If you live near Austin and haven't made the trek to this store, you don't know what you're missing...I finally found Nama Shoyu ! ! I taste tested some raw almond butter straight out of the grinder....and large organic Fuji apples for 99 cents per pound!!!

All in all, walked out of there $60 lighter, but it was well worth the trip! :D

Heh....I know what you mean....that's how I feel when I hear people talk about Raw food Restaurants in Dallas and other places....

Considering I moved to Austin from Amarillo, the opportunities here are so much better....but still lacking when compared to other places.

Just come on over VV, we have room!!

lol ,Ill even take houston again ,In order not to get sick (I have to eat mostly organic because I can feel the pesticide's effect on my body) I have to shop for groceries in houston

All we have here is a subway ,a brookshire brothers(yucky and small produce section) ,an elaines cafe (HORRIBLE place w/ chicken fried stake ,and your LUCKY to find iceberg lettuce!) and OF COURSE a corrupt courthouse !,what small texas town wouldnt have one?

It's pretty good alright, Fuzzball. I eat lunch there about once a week. But I have to admit, my first love is still Central Market. I think the produce is better, they actually have a larger selection of organic, prices are better, service is *amazing.* Other than the raw cafe, I think CM actually has a better selection of the things we need. BTW, WF's dates are not nearly as fresh as CM's.

But it's still fun to have these options. I agree. We may not have all the great raw restaurants that some areas have but we're pretty lucky to have 3 excellent sources of the stuff we need: WF, CM, and Wheatsville. :)
