This is no way a knock against anyone who still does cooked food every once in a while. This is just what happens when you go a while without cooked.

My first attempt at raw was raw all day until dinner and then a healthy vegan cooked meal. Now in the past month I have been about 95% raw, basically all raw except herbs and condiments. I don't dry my own stuff, it's all organic and store bought and condiments like cocoa (I use organic though) and other misc things that get added.

Today I got this HUGE craving for BBQ "riblets". There's this packaged vegan riblets you can buy made from wheat gluten and I thought about ways of doing it raw to curb my craving. I do not have a dehydrator so I thought about finding a raw BBQ sauce and just marinating portabello's in it but no, none of this sounded good enough. Usually I can satisfy a craving by mimicking something the best way I know how but nothing would do so I caved in and we had roasted asparagus, mashed potatoes with vegan gravy and those Meal Starters with BBQ sauce. I ate two plates full!

I now feel SO disgusting. I feel yucky, sluggish, groggy, crabby, and just over all BLAH!

This reminds me of when I transitioned to veganism and when I'd go months without dairy and then would "cheat" and then get sick all over again from it, eventually I just got sick of feeling sick and stopped eating it. So, I hope this is a sign that eventually I will be done with cooked food!

My mouth tastes yucky too.

i know exactly how you feel. im about ninety five percent raw for the same reasons as you and so my tastes are changing. for instance, the other day i ate a bunch of raw veggies on whole grain bread. the bread made me soo tired and i was full of energy before i had eaten it. it really has turned off some of the appeal of cooked for me.

thanks for sharing that, today is my first raw day (again) and I was trying to convince myself I could have some grillers (vegie food) on a sub with sauteed vegies. Now I'm glad I didn't cause I'm not all full and sleepy like I was last night after dinner :D

A while back I had this mad craving for a PB&J sandwich and so I went to the kitchen and ate it quickly and the bread made me gag, it tasted like a sponge! And I use to LOVE this bread!

you know, it's amazing how your body just feels different with cooked food once you've gone raw for awhile. I had some peanut butter last friday ( i know i can just make some raw! but i saw the jar and uuh) Wow it was so strange- it tasted discustingly fried and oily..... i love peanut butter, but it had Such a strange taste in my mouth, like something died in that jar :S

Yeah. I actually was feeling fine all day even though I hadn't ate much and now I just wanna sleep for days. I feel terrible!!!!

Now when I want something cooked, I will look back on this and hopefully convince myself, it's NOT worth it.

It's all a journey and a learning proces. Sounds like you're on the right path. I think it's good your body reacted like that. If it DIDN'T react negatively you wouldn't have that thought in your head "i know this will make me feel horrible to eat it," and you may say "i don't feel any different, heck, why not have that (cooked food)." Maybe that's just how I would do it lol.

At first when I was still doing a cooked meal a day, I did think that way, I was doing Eat to Live. But I am very glad that happened because before I didn't think I could stick with it and now I am very sure I can because when dairy made me feel icky I laid off for good. :)
