Hi there,
Wondering if anyone has feedback for the best tool to slice jicama. Mandoline, cleaver, etc. I have no experience with it, but would like to start using it for recipes, etc.
Thanks!

Hey there! A jicama is very similar to a potato in texture. You will need to peel it for whatever your're planning on making. What are you planning on making with it? If you have a mandolin and want to the the "fries" recipe in Alissa's book - the mandolin will work fine. If not, a sharp knife will do.

Thanks VeganforLife. I am thinking about making the french fries and also Juliano's garlic bread. I had it at a potluck and it was delish. I don't have a mandolin, but its the one tool I am really missing and think its time to invest in one.
Anyone have reccomendations on a specific brand?

i tried to make the "fries" out of Alissa's book with the jicama and they were terrible but i think its because i screwed them up somehow so if you have any tips i would love to hear what recipies you are using them in and how ... when i cut mine up i had no problem just using a really sharp serated knife
