Has anyone had attacks of sneezing after eating raw foods? I've just had an avocado with lime and cannot stop sneezing. It happened once before but I can't remember what I was eating at the time. My nose is running like a faucet now as well. Maybe I'm allergic to avocados? That would be really bad.

I think sneezing is one of the routes a body uses to detox just like coughing, spitting, sweating, bowel, and bladder. Did I leave anything out of my list ?
add blowing the nose, throwing up, and watery eyes.

EZ rider, Stacie ... thanks a lot for responding. Makes me feel better. I'll keep eating avocados.

I started sneezing a lot after going raw. Nobody's gonna like hearing this, but I think it might have something to do with fat intake. Now that I'm on a low-fat version of raw, I sneeze a lot less.

Oh, that's very interesting rawbeliever. Because it was after having an avocado as I mentioned. I'll have to keep a record. Thanks for your input. I appreciate it a lot. I'm new to all of this.

The more salt I use, the more I sneeze. VERY interesting connection there haha

I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with a condition called Candidiasis.
Its when the bodys intestinal flora has become imbalanced from a variety of causes including diet, tons of antibiotics and other drugs, stress etc.
Basically candida is a fungus that lives in our guts and once we have an imbalance of it, it spreads through our body, esp if the conditions are right (a diet high in cooked foods esp simple carbs and sugars as the candida lives off sugar as it is a yeast)
With that being said, I have struggled with candida for a few years now, and am not even able to eat certain fruits as i cannot handle the sugar b/c it feeds the yeast (candida), but you also must be careful b/c moulds (which are in the same family as candida and thus allow it to thrive) can grow on many fruits and veggies and avocados are well known to contain mould (don't know why but its a fact)
When you see fruits (like plums or esp grapes) with a white coating that is a form of fungus, just like mould on bread, and when you see an avocados skin turn speckeled green (when it should be blackish when ripe) then you know there is mould on/in it-and don't think that only the skin has the mould, the avocado flesh will have it to.
That being said you can also have mould allergies, many people do it is very common. So if you are allergic to certain types of moulds, it would make sense that foods that are known to harbour moulds, like avocados would cause an allergic reation (such as sneezing), another common oral allergy symptom is an itchy mouth and if you are really allergic like me, it will mess up your digestion b/c your insides will become inflamed and react to the avocado.
Hope you're not allergic, but at least if you are you understand why now.
:)

HollyBean - Thanks for taking the time to post ... and yes, I have Candida, (lots of antibiotics years ago) and that could very well be why I was sneezing so much after having an avocado. I didn't think of it at the time. Thanks a lot!
