View Full Version : What would your dream kitchen look like?

So I was cleaning the kitchen today, 't was a terrible mess and then I got thinking about what I would love to change.
I'd just love to throw away (ok, or gíve away to a 2nd hand store) the... I don't know how you call it in English... The stove, the thing where you cook on. And the magnetron/oven that's just sitting there.
Unfortunately I can't right now, because my dh isn't a raw foodist and uses those two... (however, if I ever get FANTASTIC ENERGY TO BURST, he's the first who'd jump on the raw wagon right with me... He just wants to see me be a living proof first :))
I'd love to have a dish washer (I hate doing the dishes) and a bigger fridge to store all my fresh produce in (since our kitchen is reeeaaaaaaaally small, the latter would only be possible if we threw, sorry, gíve, away the stove).
Maybe a small dehydrator, allthough I'm not into dehydrating, but I'm still transitioning so a little dehydrated food at times would be great when I crave something instead of those cooked things, and a place for my sprouts (I just bought all the things I need to sprout today... Am excited!). This all could go wonderfully in place of the oven...!
I'd also like to throw away a lot of junk from the cupboards, plus all the chemical cleaners that are still left and replace them with ecological products. I will do what I can now... And one day, I'm sure, that oven and stove will be gone too.

So how about you (if you don't already have your raw dream kitchen, and if you do, tell us about it)?

I would have two industrial refrigerators like they use in stores..just refrigerator, no freezer, glass front so you can see in -- I need plenty of room for my fruits and veggies!

I would have a place for my sprouts where it would be easier to take care of them...

I would have a special place for my kombucha jars and my fermentation jars...

I would still have a stove because well, I still need to boil water to sterilize bottles for my kombucha and when non-raw friends/family want a cooked meal...

I would have a window/shelf for growing herbs...maybe a LARGE window and space to grow herbs AND tomatoes and cucumbers and...

oh, and of course I'd need an Excaliber dehydrator and a vitamix and an industrial strength food processor...

I would have a table set up in the middle of a tropical jungle and an extension cord so I could plug in the old Vita Mix. Oh yeah, and maybe a sink... Oh, and a machete, too, for opening all the coconuts. Yeah, that sounds about right...

It would be BIGGER, and I'd have a personal raaw vegan chef! :D

It would look just like it does now. I have two juicers set up (Champion & Green Power) and making juice again today. :) My stove is unplugged and my stove top has been converted to more counter space to put my Green Power juicer on and I have avocados stored in my oven. There is lots of fresh produce around my kitchen and my frig is full of produce and little else. My kitchen window (4ft x 6ft) has been converted to a window garden and has sprouts growing in it right now. It makes me smile when I go into my kitchen. So I guess that makes it ideal for me. :)

This is what I've always wanted for my kitchen. Mind you, I have a big kitchen so I can do this. Yet some how hubby thinks I'm nuts!

A full size salad bar! Like those in a restaurant! That way I can always have cut up fruits and veggies and assembled nicely for meals or snack. I wouldn't even need a fridge really. How cool would that be?

Mine's pretty good right now but I need more freezer space for smoothie fruit.

Well, Besides from being bigger and having a dishwasher (which I don't have right now), a big stainless steel frig with filtered water and ice automatically and a super big sink and a spray thingy (sink doesn't work right now either - yep I wash my dishes in the tub!) and of course, all the proper great appliances.

The one thing that I would really want to make my kitchen life easier is a floor I can hose down. I used to work at the zoo and we could take the hose and hose almost the whole thing down. So easy on cleaning the floor! I would just squegee the water to the drain. I would love to be able to do that to my counter tops too and my dishes. Just blast away and push all the mess down the drain. :)

I know weird. Can't help it - I get so sick of sweeping and vaccuming all the crumbs that fall in on the floor and my bf is so messy and I always have to clean up after him. Hosing everything down would be so easy and it would cool things down in the summer too! :)

I'd have a desk space for the Butler to use for household management. I'd hire a personal, live in, raw foods chef to prepare delightful creations. I'd have an open floor plan so that guests could observe the chef as he prepares our meals. That would be a great way to share my high raw world with others. I'd have fresh daily deliveries from the farmer's market, per the order specifications of the chef. And, of course there would be great mood music and beautiful flowers.

I want a HUGE industrial fridge. Glass front or stainless steel. I dont need a freezer. A special sprouter space. I don't need much more than that lol. I only have a few dishes (enough for one person), i don't need pots or pans, etc. My kitchen would consist mostly of fridge lol.

My ideal kitchen--a big orchard of fruit trees beside a veggie patch :D

I dont need a freezer.
I use my freezer as a place to get my juice mug "frosty" between making fresh juices. That and ice cubes are about all I use it for anymore.

so a mini freezer would be nice to have huh? I forgot about that part!

Would a giant garden and fruit tress count as part of the kitchen?? :D

Haha, you guys inspire me! Personal raw food chef, being able to hose the floor (I'd hose my messy hubby along with it... just kidding), orchard full of fruit trees and veggies, a bigger kitchen...
Now I just háve to adjust my dream a little!
Yeah, my ULTIMATE dream would be moving to another country, living near the ocean and near organic farmers, who of course, deliver everything to my door, and if I like to wander around on their lands to eat right from the tree or the ground, I may (I'm too lazy to grow my own veg, I know myself).

As for now, my little kitchen may do.
And you know what, right after starting this thread, I went to the kitchen and started cleaning out the cupboard and throw away all those things I (nor my non-raw hubby) hardly ever use... Ah... It's so good to have gotten rid of that junk...
And I set up my new sprouter thingies and started to sprout for the first time in my life (the one time I sprouted beans as a kid, hardly count...)!
Hurray for (little) changes and making dreams come true!

We just put an island in my kitchen this weekend and I think I am finally where I want it to be. The dehydrator and the laptop sit on the island while the vitamix, freshlife sprouter and wheatgrass juicer are on one counter top and the food processor is on the other. I have one refrigerator that is only for nuts , macca, cacao and spices and the other is for produce. I have a chest freezer for smoothie fruits ... I think I'm set except for cleaning out the cabinets of my old organic crackers etc that the rest of my family will not eat.
