Hi Everyone,
A quick story....
I went to the health food store today to pick up some raw nuts....I go to the check-out register and my 7 year old says to the clerk, " my dad... he's on the raw diet.. that's why the nuts." The clerk chuckles. A moment later my 9 year old says," no, no it's not a diet it's a LIFESTYLE CHANGE"!!. The clerk and I can't help but laugh. You had to be there. The things kids pick up on.
Peace,
M.B.

Kids always come up with the cutest things to say. That is something that you will never forget and will always bring a smile to your face. It made a smile on mine. Thanks!

Hi Everyone,
I can only hope a little bit of this raw lifestyle rubs off on the kids. They understand what it's principles are. They talk about healthy foods with me, but kids still like to eat what thier friends eat too.
My daughter says at school the kids eat things like cookies and chips for snack time. She brings fruit, veggies and yogurt. She says she's bored with her snacks and wants to bring what the other kids bring. I said no. She's getting over it the way any 7 year old will, but the pressure at such a young age to follow the crowd is just crazy.
Talk to your kids about food and let them help you prepare it. They love to get thier hands dirty and help wash the veggies and watch the blender go round and round. The measuring cup is cool and they also do a little math in the process. You'll be surprised. They want to eat what they prepare.
OHHHHHHHH!!!! I'm on to something.....Next on Oprah..it's Monkeyboy the guy who educates the little ones about good eating an why you can have so much fun preparing it. Forget about GAMEBOY, where's my juicer MOM? ha ha ha ha ha ah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Peace and knife safety,
M.B.

Teaching Children's Uncooking and Nutrition classes are always the most fun for me; partly because I love to see the wonder of it all unfold and experience the suprise they feel when they realize that "food" doesn't have to come in a package or box or be sugared or fried to taste yummy and partly because I know I am planting a seed of beauty and knowledge that will continue to grow at its own rate... :)
