Hopefully this isn't a duplicate post, but if I eat Spinach in my green smoothie everyweek, would I be missing some nutrients? Like shoudl I do Spinach one week adn then next week do Collards and then next week try Turnip and so forth? Any ideas or advice would be helpful.

Congratulations to u for the weight loss!!!:)

I am new but I have been reading around in here and not only are they using spinach, Kale, parsley, mint, lettuce(red & green leafy, romaine etc.)
I would guess actual greens would be good because they are green :)
Have you bought Alissa's book yet?

You should rotate your greens. Every week would be perfect. :)

I like to mix it up. Sometimes every day or every two days I have different greens in my smoothies.

Oh man. Greens are so much work to clean but I need to think of it as exercise.. LOL.

spinach is wonderful. But to get the full spectrum of nutrients you should try to use different greens as was mentioned. It's an adventure for your taste buds!

Hello Tanisha-
Congrats on the weight loss! You are doing great! I agree about cleaning the greens... I usually use pre-washed Earthbound farms organic baby spinich and mixed greens and hope for the best! I usually use the collards and mustard and turnip greens to marinate or for wraps. I don't really like them in the smoothies but I do LOVE KALE in them. Oh, and I also use celery in the smoothies too. Especially good with bananas.

Just don't eat Arugula......it's disgusting. Like pouring acid down your throat.

Thanks all for the advice, I think the general consensus is variety.

Queenb - Thanks for the congrats. Your right on point with me I buy the pre-washed earthbound farms, that is why I asked could I just use that every week. I need to stop being lazy especially since I have more energy now.

A handful of parsley in a green smoothie is super nutritious! I'm on a parsley bandwagon this week. Let's hear it for parsley! also, it's cheap.

Oh I didn't realize parsley could be used as well, well. I've wasted so much parsly in the last couple of weeks. I heard that you shouldn't use to much or it could be toxic, that is why I'm shocked.

i soak my greens (or whatever i am washing) in water and grapefruit seed extract for like 10 minutes, and then drain it and dry it. i use what i need and store it, to be used that day or maybe within 2-3 days. seems to work fine. havent gotten sick yet lol
