By request - here's my soft pretzel recipe. Enjoy!

Soft Pretzels
This made 2 big ones
4 C sprouted wheat berries
1/2 C almond (soaked is best but I used unsoaked today and it was fine)
sea salt

Just use your coffee grinder (or appliance of choice) to grind up the wheat berries and then the almonds into a "dough". Sprinkle in some sea salt - to taste, but the more, admittedly, the more pretzely it'll taste. Shape into pretzel form on a teflex sheet. Then sprinkle the top with some coarsley ground sea salt.

Dehydrate at 135 for 2 hours or until firm on one side (but not hard - you want it soft inside!) and flip onto an unlined tray. Turn it down to 105 and dehydrate for another hour or so - until desired firmness.

I served it up with a quick honey/mustard dipping sauce. As an alternative, you might add some agave to the dough mix and some cinnamon and make a sweet pretzel.

Thank you for sharing Beckla!

This looks and sounds delicious! I used to LOVE soft pretzels with nacho cheese soooo...I'm definitely gonna be making this with some of Alissa's Nacho Cheese (undehydrated)! Mmmm...can hardly wait!

Where did you get the recipe for the honey mustard dipping sauce? Is it yours too?

Glad to share, gang.

Lucy - thanks for the list of condiments. I actually just used some spicy stone ground mustard with some raw honey for mine.

OMG! I saw those in the photos thread and it brought back a craving I used to get for these with yes... the cheddar cheese sauce or the nacho cheese sauce. woooh! I am going to have to try these!

Quick question Beckla, since I havent done any sprouts or "dough" stuff yet (day 8 all raw!) is this something I could do in my vita mix? I have such a tiny so called food processor I wouldnt be able to fit 4 cups of anything in, I am hoping I can do these in the vita mix.

Thanks!

UUMMMMM!!!! Thank you! I just reached into that picture and had meself a pretzel! LOL> If it were only that easy.

This looks delish. The simpler, the better. This recipie also looks cheap to make, comparatively.

I am making this tonite.

Thank you for sharing!

Well, I made them and they are very good! I was surprised they quelled my craving for bread and crackers, too.
I modified the recipie by using 2 1/2 cups unsoaked, dry wheat berries, and 3/4 cup almonds and about 1/2 cup of water.
The reason for the modification is because I had no sprouted wheat, and I wanted to make those pretzles right away!!

Green - great ideas all around. Glad it hit the spot.

Hrm... re: the Vitamix... anyone know? I don't have one. =(

I'm sure it'd be fine, though, based on what I've heard about those wonderful machines....

This is a great bread recipie, too. The onion bread makes me feel sick smelling it in the dehydrator, so, I decided to try this recipie for bread. It works great for bread. I have used it for sandwiches with tasty results.
