so, normally i don't have any issue with my rawdom (it's only been 3 weeks) but today is that special time of the month and I've been dizzy, nauseous and craving cooked, and in lieu of cooked, nuts and fats.

two questions: do i eat what my body wants? as in the nuts and fats- not the cooked, even if it's over my goal for the day?

second- is there anything i can do to help the dizziness and nausea?

thanks so much everyone!

Lycheenut, I may be wrong but I think you should eat what your body needs as long as it's raw and don't worry about it. For me I have noticed that since I've been raw my body always tells me what it needs - and I eat that. When I ate SAD there were many, many times I had no clue what my body wanted or needed - so I would just eat whatever I could get my hands on. Usually this didn't satisfy my hunger but that's the way it was. All I got for doing that was being overweight and depressed. The dizziness and nausea may be detox. When I first started raw I had symptoms like that. What helped me is that I would go outside and get some sun-light and breath in some fresh air for a few minutes. I usually hate the sun but I was craving the feeling of the sun. These feelings lasted for about 2 days and standing in the sun and breathing in the air seemed to really help me!:o ;) :p

Opinions:

-You've got the right idea. Detox might be uncomfortable....but it shouldn't be acute/painful/scary/debilitating. As such...you CAN regulate your own detox.

1) Fasting, Sunlight, light exercise.......these things bring on complete detox dump.

2) Light eating of fruits and fruit juices will bring on medium detox.

3) Light eating of leafy green vegetables will allow for a very mild detox.

4) Heavy raw mixing....along with fats and nuts will slow detox to a rather slow pace.

5) Medications, processed consumables, cooked foods, stress, drugs, and stimulants/depressants will all bring detox to a halt...while the body tries to eliminate the new poisons in the system/blood.

Im not a Christian, but the bible-writers must surely have had lots of experience with detoxification & eating healthy, & the bible demands that you eat mostly 2 times a day (at waking & at night), & eat only raw -- so they must have known that eating raw foods freely was also to serve satan!
but the bible says that you should not eat over a certain weight of food (which does not determine how much nutrients you eat), & science have proven calorie restriction as the most efficient method to gain health & longevity.

so I suggest fasting to get rid of your false cravings, & don't be afraid!
you have to focus more at the result of the fast the 3-5 first days, & doing lots of deep breathing to hold your energy acceptable & speed-up detox (we eliminate 70% of all toxins trough the lungs! weak lungs = weak mind & body).
& a 40 days fast is supposed to remove all "toxic cravings" or false cravings.
& remember to live as you have always been fasting, like it is a natural diet -- to remove your fear! & each day that passes you will be cleaner & have more energy! but you may come into short periods of increased detoxification...
fasting & powerful breathing is the most powerful methods to gain health, just breath deeply & powerfully for 2-5 minutes 3-4 times a day & that is enough.
you will feel that breathing works after a while...

thanks for your help everyone!

i didn't get most of your replies until today, so i did end up eating a lot of nuts last night. now i feel gross, and nauseous and still dizzy. so far i've only eaten a banana today, and i was hoping it would soothe me, but it hasnt really. i also took the dog for a walk... but still i'm feeling yucky!

i have the luxury of being able to stay in bed, but i don't want to do that! i was hoping to go to the gym!
