i know there are recipes for crabapple jellies and things like that... but i havent heard much about eating them raw.

they do make your mouth dry out in a funny way when you bite into them.... so theyre not the best for just snacking on although i kind of enjoy the tang :p

any ideas? any reason to NOT eat them raw?

the crabapple is THE original apple, before any domestic varieties were created, and ive a good row of trees near my house that are in fruit. itd be cool to be able to eat them :)

ive been googling... lol. yes you can eat them raw although a lot of people dont love the taste.... but theyre very high in pectin apparently.

im still interested to know if any of you eat them :)

i used to snack on them all the time as a kid, although people told me not to, but i guess my instincts were right. lol
