I have been trying to write to all of you for a very long time. I am a returning “rawbie”. I was 100% raw for over 2 years - up until last December. On December 24, 06, I had to have emergency gall-bladder surgery (gall-bladder extremely infected). Aside from the mega-doses of antibiotics, and morphine for pain that I endured, I also slipped away several times. To say the least I had major complications.
Thereafter I became malnourished because I couldn’t hold raw food long enough in my body. My doctor who is very supportive told me it would take at least 21 days after the surgery for my body to find a new way to process food. Before the 21 days were up I was very anemic, weak and passing out at every turn. It was so strange to see my body begin to break down again. I was beyond upset that I couldn’t stay raw.
I had to go off being 100% raw. I included humus and un-sprouted nuts and vegan dressings. This was enough to make me gain 20 pounds.
Just as I began my raw journey suddenly the first time that is as soon as I could make a commitment to myself – I did it again this time. I woke up one morning 3 weeks ago and decided that it was a great day to get back on the raw path. I am now 100% raw and loving the feeling of being healthy again.
I have regained my strength and commitment to become and stay 100% raw again. A contributing factor for my decision has been because I continued to check in periodically and would read all of your comments. This time around I hope to contribute and participate more in the discussions as they have helped me on my raw journey I would love to be a part of helping someone else succeed on theirs.
I want to thank all of you for all your support and positive encouragement for those of us that are much too shy to participate – your words and kind gestures towards one another have been my saving grace.
Thank you!
