Hi all,
Thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Geoff. I live in Portland Oregon (which some of us affectionately refer as PDX, which is the airport code, and is sort of lame, but it's what we do..)
I've been vegan for the past 3 years, and while I'm not raw, i've been working hard (especially lately) to increase the amount of my diet that is raw.
I'm married to a lovely vegan wife and have 3 great vegan kids (8/6/and 6 months) all who are vegan.
I've lurked on this forum a bit and gotten some great tips and advice (especially about juicers, which this week I decided to take the plunge and get a greenstar!)

Welcome! This is the place to learn, that's for sure. Do you have Alissa's book and DVD? Great tools to help one on the raw journey. Also - green smoothies - your kids will love 'em. I call 'em Shrek shakes. They are also powerful tools for one's raw adventure.
Welcome and have fun with this new healthy life!

Thanks. I don't have Alissa's book yet. It's on my wish list. I've been doing green smothies and my oldest daughter LOVES them. I've been doing them every day for her when she comes back from camp. It's been a real hit.

Hey, I'm in Portland too and am basically in your position food-wise. I'm vegan and eat about 75% raw. Welcome!

Thanks! My big challenge right now has been lunches. Trying to figure out the easiest but most filling raw lunch options.

Hi from a fellow Oregonian!
My lunch is usually an avocado or sushi made with pecan nut pate and fruit.... filling and very good!!
Good luck on your raw journey!:)

Hi Geoff! I'm across the river in Washougal. I'm also vegan and about 75% raw. I was doing better at about 90% raw, but the rest of my family is not raw, or even vegan, so it's almost impossible for me to be as raw as I would like without spending an enourmous amount of time in the kitchen. For lunch I usually have a huge salad with everything you can think of in there, especially avos. I snack on fruit all day too. Hope your journey goes well, and make sure you look into green smoothies. The kids will love them too :)

Thanks all for the welcome. Right now I'm about 3/4 raw. I'm doing everything from waking till dinner raw and then my snacks at night. Probably stay at this mix as I do enjoy having the option of cooked food in the eve.
