Being on a ship that serves meat 5 days a week is hard being vegetarian but im doing it. Any suggestions for snacks that can be stored underneath my bed :) Well Im glad I found this place and im going to thank everyone forward for all the info that Im going to get.

Hi Dan,

Love the nic! :) Welcome!

Hmmm, Seems like being raw on a ship might present challenges. I'm thinking if you can be veggie (not vegan?) then, just request whatever they are feeding you raw instead of cooked. That work?

When you are home, you might work up a batch or two of raw crackers and keep them, nuts, dried fruits (soak before eating) and LaraBars under your bed?

Injoy ~

Hi Dan,

If you want to know what Raw is all about, go to www.alissacohen.com and click on the kiwi :)

Wow, what a great opportunity you have to be healthy on a ship. You really have to be creative! Tell us more about what kinds of amenities you have. Do you have access to a fridge? Freezer? Power Outlet? Sink? That will help us to help you :)

There are lots of dehydrated snacks you can do, including what Revvell said...but tell us more about you so we can help you.

Cheers,
VeggieGirl

yes, what you have access to will help us.

i think that some dehydrated snacks would be good. but, i also think that a more simple approach to eating would be best.

simple salads with nuts or sprouts (for protein). sprouts are easy and inexpensive.

nut milks and smoothies will be easy in blender, and filling!

also, blender soups and/or pate or marinated veggies stuffed in a green wrap such as collard or kale leaf.

for snacks: keep pieces of fruit on hand, that can be eaten OUT of hand.

all of these things take less time. this is mostly how i eat, simply that is. mostly b/c during the week, when i get home from work i have no desire to spend most of my evening making dinner. i want something that i can throw together in under 30 minutes, with emphasis on the UNDER :)
