Hello,

2nd day - I failed.

My husband wanted french fries... I caved and had so many.

How do you do it without being tempted?

Also, what did you do with old non-raw food? I have some frozen vegan food, Amy's Kitchen stuff that's really good, don't just want to throw them out...

And the tough one:

My h is a really bad, BAD eater. He doesn't eat ay meat but eats basically fried foods and baked foods. He doesn't like any vegetables except potatoes and corn. Doesn't like any fruits.

It scares me to think wtf he is doing with his body. He has no regard for what does in there.

But what do give to someone who doesn't like the textures / doesn't like the 'watery' taste??

He's been like this all his life. His parents were horrible. Forced him to drink his food (mushed it in a blender) every day, he doesn't even KNOW what was in there.

When we were dating I had no problem getting him to at least try stuff but now that we're married - well, not an easy task.

I really feel for him and want him to stick around with me. So, are there any crunchy, non-watery veggies/fruits/recipes or ANYTHING anyone can give me?

This has been affecting me for a while now. I want to help him get past this.

angiecbc... no worries... in time - your h will see how you are changing and how you are feeling better -- and it will peak his curiosity. Set the example by allowing raw to change your life FIRST.

as far as recipes -- try some fun recipes ... like Alissas blue berry pie! (I know you said he doesn't like any fruits - but what about pies?) or RAW ICE CREAM!!! made with coconut milk???

Alissas fudge balls...

just a bit of a taste here and there - a tease of the raw world if you will! ;)

then fix things like the spicy taco recipe! YOu can find it right here on RFT - and believe me -- it is so amazing - even my sad carnivore friends request that I make that when they come over for dinner!

there are so many amazing recipes you can try that are really easy to fix and delicious. He's going to have to make the decision to change... but first -- take care of yourself... set the example... BE VIBRANT... GLOW until he needs to put sunglasses on!! :D feed him whole and healthy foods - but if he choses to eat other wise - don't stress it.. don't push and don't complain.... just let him come to his own conclusions! and as beautiful as you are -- he will be making conclusions very quickly!!;)

btw... not failure... you simply ate something cooked... and you move on! nbd! You start fresh and make healthy choices... something that I did my first month... (now don't laugh)... I used to look at the french fries my dh had and I would think ... okay... smells good... looks delicious... now...
would that look better on my A$$ or sitting there on this plate??? or perhaps I should tuck it away and add it to my belly fat... or maybe I need a bit more cellulite on my left thigh??? I would think of my entire body and where the fat would look the best and after torturing myself like that for a while - I just didn't want to eat it anymore - lol!! ;) :D

Oh, man...I feel your pain.

My bf is a staunch meat and cheese type of guy- he is the only adult i know that still pours glasses of milk to drink alongside a mega huge sandwich. He's not only into this type of food, but he's resolute about it. He once told me if I had been vegan he would never have dated me! Ha!

But when i went raw a few weeks back, something caught his attention about it. In the first little bit, i gave him little bites of desserts i had made, or would make him smoothies if he was working. Then i challenged him to go 7 days raw...ok, so not quite the rawgust challenge, but for him it was a raw marathon!

So what happened after he was done? No miracle transformation, sad to say. He was back on the cooked food at midnight of that night. But he did lose 6 pounds in the week. And on top of that, he now agrees with me about Raw and that uncooked food is tastier and you feel better eating it. he's now 75 percent raw...some days being better than others.

The best part is i didn't have to pay him the 100 bucks I said i would if he made it through the week!

in terms of the failure thing....you should watch your mind on that one. once you set up that resistance thing you are doomed to live it out again.

the only thing that will help you to develop past it is experience. Experience the benefit of whole foods...the goodness you feel from them and the let yourself really experience it. set your consciousness to that experience and also become truly aware of when you are compromising that consciousness and you will soon naturally choose to align with the higher good!!

you didn't fail at anything exept at living in gift of your highest truth. once you celebrate in that truth you will be full of potential instead of useless guilt.

imho xox cashewy!

WOOOHOOOO! Can I write that down and take it with me everywhere I go? Maybe I'll tatoo it to the back of my hand so that every time I reach for SAD food I'll be reminded of where that food will show up later! GENIOUS!

This is good, but even better is to know where that so-called food came from. I've read so much - "Fast Food Nation" - by Eric Schlosser; "Don't Eat This Book" - by Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me director) and many others to know that I will NEVER touch that awful crap again! I know where my cherry tomatoes have come from, or my eggplant, or my greens for my green smoothies, etc. Not from slaughter houses, that's for sure!

I suggest reading out loud TO your boyfriend or husband where what they are eating came from and how it got to his plate; what it was and what it has become and what it's shot up with, etc. Years ago that's what convinced me that it just wasn't right...

Find someone you don't like to give it to.

First and most importantly, there is no failure on the raw path.

Why did they put his food in a blender?

Crunchy vegetables I like are water chesnuts (get them at an asian market..they are really delicious) and carrots...sprouts, get them in the vegetable aisle

There are tons of recipes all over the web and in books..pretty much a raw version of everything. Maybe you can make him raw salsa and flax seed crackers?
