So, I began raw in the beginning of july. within the first two weeks, my skin my eyes, my energy everything came to life. I lost 5 lbs and felt terrific
then I went to only 60% raw for like 5 days when travelling....gained 7 lbs,
returned immediately when i got home to 100% and it has been almost 3 weeks. I am at my high weight, fatigued, and sluggish. my clothes almost don't fit I'm so thick
I'm lots of blended foods and greens, good fats and some fruit/carob etc
i can still see the clarity in my eyes and feel the quality of my raw vibrations but I'm thick and slow and sloggy
the first half of yesterday I fasted on coconut water adn spirulina but I'm getting worried that doing another fast will send me into more YO-YOing
I know that I can commit to raw/whole foods. it really isn't a stretch for me from what I was eating but I need to get this weight of to be healthy and free
I'm at 140 now, feel great at 130, should probably be around 123-125

Bikrim yoga will kick you into high burn mode.
Either that or if you're around a beach, beach volleyball is the ticket.
Fun and a great workout...no dulldrums.

i'm headed to my first bikram class this weekend.
I really was working out about 6-10 hours a week before this slump....hard work outs too, spin class three times a week...skating, and weights etc.
I think the added sweets of the fruit i'm having may be too much

It's hard when you are starting on a journey and you're just hitting your stride and you have to shift things - I think it causes confusion in your body. (IMHO!! ;) )... if this were happening to me I would - do a Master cleanse for a few days ... to completely 'reboot' my system. Then once I broke the fast - I would do 100% raw... (now please remember this is for me... what I would do -- okay??)
After breaking the fast I would start every morning with a Master Cleanse drink - like 32 ounces of it
ALSO -- I would eat very little fruit -- LOTS OF GREENS -- LOTS OF SALADS AND VEGGIES... Marinara sauce, pesto sauce with zuchinni pasta noodles -- and I'd eat coconut oil 2 to 3 times a day. AND DRINK TONS OF WATER... no fruit juices.... I would do this for no less than 2 to 3 weeks until I felt a balance in my body.
then I would start incorporating a few of Alissa's recipes ...
NOW THIS IS WHAT I WOULD DO... and remember we are each different!!
you must do what you feel led to do ... keep us posted... ;)

That you are still in the beginning of this journey. It sounds to me like you are going through a detox right now. You need to just eat 100% raw and ride it out and let your body do what it needs to do. It takes time. You didn't get your body into an unhealthy state over night. It won't be cleared up over night either.

Hi starfire, I totally agree with you and I know that this is the right thing to do
those first 2 weeks in july were just like that, started after a 3 day fast and colonic and then only had veggies with cashews and pumpkin seeds for fat
I am just trying to get those three days available....and the yo-yo thing is a concern but I guess I just need to break through and not look back

I also wonder about doing the master cleanse without the maple syrup...too sweet for my candida.

If you like lemons in your water... then there is no reason you can't do the MC without the maple syrup. (add the cayenne for a nice kick and help with circulation - and help you release toxins). I think there is something about the maple syrup that keeps you from getting hungry?? I'm not sure... but I use waaay less maple syrup than what the MC recipe calls for - good luck - keep us posted...

hi! i'd say for sure cut down on the sugary fruits and get rid of the maple sugar. candida can majorly slow a person down and cause them to have big food cravings.
i recently went on a trip and ate about 60% raw for about 4-5 days. wow! i was shocked, had the same experience as you, gained weight, ect.
what got me back on track was cleaning out my intestines (that sounds so sick). i took some organic natural colon cleansers. 'let out' alot of junk everyday for about a week. then my body was light, i lost that hard rock i got in my gut from all that hard to digest cooked food and i felt like my self again.
i highly recommend trying this. next time that i know i cann't avoid cooked food i'll be taking some good quality enzymes to help break it all down and keep me on track.
all the best!
