I'm on day 9, and the last couple of days have really needed some naps, not happy getting up (mind you, this could be work, which I don't really care for right now)...has anyone else experienced this? Is it a lull?
I'm 9 days raw, started off with powerful raw energy, but it seems to be subsiding

Congrats on completing nine days!! The lack of energy you are now experiencing is part of the detoxing process. Sounding like a broken record now, but just stick with it, it DOES get better. ~ Cathy

Hey Shanti I am in the same boat as you, the first couple of days my energy was great, I even got my jogging mileage up! But now, these past 3 days I've just been down! I just want to lay down, and I can't seem to get myself to jog yet. I know I should, but hopefully like lafsalot said, this is just detox so hopefully it'll almost be over! We just gotta keep at it :)

SAD = standard american diet

Rest while you are detoxing or you could prolong it.

I am in the middle of my third month raw and know exactly what you are experiencing, because I had the same thing happen my first month. It is just part of the process and for some reason a lot of the books on raw forget to mention the severe lack of energy often experienced in the first month. Mine was horrible it was all I could do to get up and go to work and forget excercise and the emotions were crazy!!! Hang in there your body is healing and it is taking all the energy to cleanse. Now I feel great and am in love with this lifestyle it is the best thing (besides my life partner) that has ever happened to me. Your doing great and are probly right on track.

I Posted The Same Question Today, A Couple Hours Difference. It Helps Me To Know That I Am Not Alone. Everyone Is Telling Me I Am Detoxing. I Am On My 16th Day. I Was So Tired Last Night I Could Not Get Up To Answer The Phone! Maybe It Will Pass For Both Of Us Soon. My Boyfriend Does Not Understand What I Am Going Through. I Have Shown Him In Allissa's Book Where It Says, I Will (one Day) Have Enormous Energy. He Has His Doubts. Write Back When You Gain Your Energy And I Will Also.

awesome, thanks Joy!...I'm still hanging in there...almost fell asleep teaching my yoga class last night, but I have nothing planned this weekend...my boyfriend is away too, so that makes raw really easy for the next few days. I just now bought Alissa's book. My only concern is that the recipes will be complex....and I need simplicity!! I also need variety......so I'm currently on the hunt for simple variety!!

I experience the same thing. Super tired, just want to sleep. I'm getting plenty of sleep but I just want more. There's something nice about it though. I feel like my body is telling me what it needs, and I'm giving it to him/it/her(?)

When I get like that, colon hydrotherapy snaps me out of it and my healthy appetite returns and my energy picks up. so that tells me those lulls in energy are part of the detoxing process.
We spend decades eating unhealthy food; raw takes time to work it's magic, but I promise you there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Don't give up please:)
Keep checking in with us!

Yep, detoxing, it's all part of the process.
Don't know how long it will take, it's different for everyone depending on health, age, what you've been eating, drinking and taking in the past...
It can take shorter or longer depending on your constitution, just hang in there, breath thoroughly and get plenty of rest and water.
It wíll get better.

Well, I've been looking for the information on this thread. I have completed three weeks on raw and I'm really tired now. Felt great the first week or so, but blah since then. Lost three pounds the first week, but put one back on. I've tried the green smoothies, Lucy, that you talk about so much and they are really good. Can you share your favorite recipe (or 2) or is that on another thread? So, while I'm a bit discouraged, I'm staying on this diet because I can ... it's the first diet ever that hasn't been hard to stick with. So applause in that regard ... but boy, I could use some oooomph.
