Hi. For about the last probably fifty eight hours I have not been eating a lot, at all. The whole time I have had about one and a half medium banana, a small apricot, a fruit smoothie of one medium banana and a cup of raspberries, a medium apple and then this morning.. a bowl of Rice Krispies cereal.

Upon waking up this morning I was incredibly weak so I freaked (being the emetophobic I am) so I forced down about a cup and a half of Rice Krispies cereal with a cup of organic soy milk. I was in absolutely misery thereafter. I was so nauseated and eventually ended up unintentionally puking three times.

Why?! I felt so much better after that but.. I don't know what to do. Never will I eat an apple or Rice Krispies again, which is okay for the Rice Krispies because they are absolutely horrible, (they were the closest immediate thing I could eat as I could barely stand), but unfortunate for the apple.

Can someone explain why this happened and what I can do to prevent it from happening again? Even though I just had some raspberry mash.. I am now afraid to eat, anything solid or partially solid, even the thought of a lot of mashed food isn't all that appealing. Sigh..

If thats all you have eaten in the past few days, I am concerned

No wonder you are weak.....you have got to be diligent about taking in enough calories. Otherwise your body and brain are not going to function properly. From a medical standpoint you can shut down the bodies ability to experience hunger from eating too little and it is very hard to get back. Please don't do this to yourself. If you are not hungry and don't feel well, you at least need to juice until you do feel well so that you are taking in enough nutrients.

Well I was fasting but moved onto eating solids the second day, but wasn't too hungry so I didn't eat much.

I was wondering could me being sick have to do with my stomach shrinking and then wanting to purge the excess because it was too much food to handle?

Hey fern... how long were you fasting? And what kind of fast was it? You know - to break a fast properly - it should take about 1/2 the length of time it took you to fast. Breaking a fast properly is KEY... extremely important. If you fast for 7 days - it should take you 3.5 days to break that fast... sloowly. to just jump in and start eating solid food again is not always a good idea- it has to be done gradually. :o I do hope you are feeling better though.

I always break my fasts with watermelon or applesauce. It's easier on the stomach and gives the bowels a chance to wake up.

Next time....give us a little more info, you scared me ;)
