I left work early yesterday because I was having such severe abdominal cramping that it was almost hard for me to walk, it would go into contractions for about 60 seconds and then stop and this went on for HOURS, then I started to vomit uncontrollably and in the middle of the night I was woken up with diarrhea and I've had watery diarrhea since 3p.m. yesterday and it hasn't stopped, I dont think I've ever gone to the bathroom this much in my life. I have horrible nausea and the stomach pain is just awful, it gets worse everytime I have to go to the bathroom again.

I'm trying to just eat applesauce and sip on some water so that I don't get dehydrated but the vomiting finally stopped and I'm worried if I eat too much or drink too much that it will come back..

Does anyone know what this could be that I'm going through? possibly a Stomach Flu or Gastrointestinal virus, I dont know if thats the same thing.. but I also have chills and then hot flashes. no fever though.

if anyone knows of anything I can do to help myself without having to go to the hospital, it would be greatly appreciated because I'm in ALOT of discomfort. I haven't felt this ill in a long long time.

I should also mention that I had something similar about 3 days ago, diarrhea and nausea but it went away after about 3 or more hours... it wasn't THIS severe but I find it odd that I had some symptoms a few days ago and then nothing and now I'm THIS bad.

I'm really worried :-( I had to crawl into the bedroom to go online because it hurts so badly to stand up.

What did you eat? Or drink

It seems like food poisinning to me? I know that some raw beans are poisonous etc...

Can you call a clinic near you?

It is important to listen to your body right now, if you are thirsty drink if you don't want anything don't eat anything.

Get some rest. When you will be able to eat, make yourself some fresh press orange juice and green juice. It is absorbe immediately by your body.

I was really sick like this yesterday too, but no vomiting. I didn't eat anything, just drank water. That seemed to help.

Get you some unfiltered apple juice and add some acidolphilus to it. Should knock it out quickly.

I had these symptoms once and it was food poisoning.

Please go to a clinic, doctor or emergency room. You'll be soooo glad you did, I promise.

No need to pay that kind of doctor bill if you do what I say. Easy, fast and effective.

This sounds a lot like a bout of food poisoning I had once. I agree to keep hydrated (little sips). I once read that cilantro and oregano oil kill bacteria, but doubt you could keep capsules down. I would definitely go to ER if it persists. Feel better!

If it's enough, have you taken it today? If so, has the diarrhea stopped? Last time I felt like you did I got the liquid stuff from the hfs that they kept in the fridge. That way I KNEW it was live.

Can't answer you question as I don't know what you're taking.

I had similar symptoms a few weeks ago and ended up missing 2 days of work. I did not eat much, didn't have an appetite. I recommend fresh juice; I did 3 times a day at least, and hardly had any solid food. And get lots of rest...I was able to catch up on all the movies I had missed. If you're not feeling like eating, than don't force it. It's a good time to do a juice fast....carrot, parsley, greens, celery, beets....that's what I had and the juice made me feel better.

I go through stuff like this for two reasons. Food allergies and gastroparesis. If I eat something I am allergic to, this is how I react. The gastroparesis is nerve damage caused by diabetes. You should get to the Dr. since you don't know what is causing this. You could have something serious.

Something that I know will work for sure is to get some activated charcoal from GNC or Wholefoods. It's best if you can get it in bulk but if they don't have it that way, capsules will work. I usually just take about 1-2 Tablespoons of it and add to 8 oz. of water making a "slurry" of charcoal. Drink this concoction and you will feel better in about an hour. The diarrhea will go away as well very quickly. It is something to keep on hand in your home for anything like stomach flu or even food poisoning. It absorbs whatever is the culprit and takes it out when you go to the bathroom

Good suggestion and charcoal never goes "bad". Messy as all get-out though.

I called the doctor on call last night and he thinks that I have a severe case of Gastroenteritis but unless I have a high fever or cannot keep any liquids down, he doesn't feel the need for me to go to the ER because there is nothing they can really do. I have to just rest, eat things like baby food and water and just wait for it to go away.

Thankfully, I stopped vomiting but I still can't stop running to the bathroom and the contractions in my upper stomach area is fucking brutal. I get these contractions about every 5 mins and I literally have to scream into a pillow it's so bad.

I just wonder if I got this from when I was at Whole Foods the other day, I didn't wash my hands before eating my food at the buffet bar nor did I wash my hands AFTER using the shopping cart when I was buying my food and I forget how many germs are on a shopping cart and on the big spoons for the buffet.

*sigh* I'm forever going to be anal about washing my hands constantly after this. This is seriously the sickest I've been in a long time and believe me, I'm sick ALOT so this is pretty fucking bad.

I pray to God that this doesn't last too much longer. I'm so worn out. I lost over 6 lbs in the past TWO days. thats how much I've been going to the bathroom. crazy.

I'm going to back to bed now. I'm sweating like crazy right now. I'm drinking a ton of vitamin water and eating applesauce, too. I'm keeping the water and babyfood down but everytime I drink or eat anything, my stomach contracts much worse. :-(

I hope you feel better.
My 6 yr old would get severely sick like this when she was high raw. She was getting sick like once a month with severe vomiting, stomach cramps and a very high fever. It got so bad one time where her fever would not go down and she was severely sick for days, I brought her to the ER and they thought she had a bladder infection. She went on antibiotics (unfortunately) and she was better within a day. BUT she got sick again and again after that..sometimes mild and other times severe. I thought at one time it was from dehdyrated foods. I don't know for certain though. FINALLY we went off raw foods and it hasn't happened again. It mysteriously just went away. It was definitly something to do with raw eating but I don't know what....very weird!

Britanie, I've been having the same problem. I got sick last week, ended up in the ER, was fine for about a week, and then got sick again yesterday. I posted about it here: http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=30716

I hope you feel better soon!

Watermelon is said to be very soothing to the stomach cramps as well as rehydrating naturally vs. things like Gatoraid.

At this time of year bugs have had plenty of warm time to grow. Living in AZ I know that the Montezuma's Revenge creeps north of the border during warm weather as the water does not recognize the international boundaries. This is why we have paid to create water and sewage infrastructure on Mexican side of border. I have been drinking bottled water but am frustrated as it just tastes so dead to me that I think I will start "charging" it in a glass bottle in the moonlight as recommended by Dr. Gabriel Cousens I believe.

How are you doing now? if you get dehydrated instead of the needle in your vein, try using enema-they help to put more water in your system very quickly.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'd take a needle in my vein over an enema any day!

Not I! Nope! Uh uhhhh. You never know what they're sticking in those needles. I KNOW what's going in my enema bag.
