Before I went Raw I picked a load of Sloe Berries. I used half to make Sloe Gin (mmm but not raw!) and the other half are in my freezer.

I'm not really sure what to do with them. They are too bitter to eat as they are, but taste like rich plums once soaked in gin and sugar!

All the recipes I've found are cooked - e.g. sloe cordial, sloe jam, slow chutney.

Does anyone have any ideas or should I donate them to non-raw friends? I think it might be possible to leave them to soak in something and use agave instead of sugar. But I'm not sure what would work. Obviously the alcohol in the gin preserves them and stops them going off.

I'm assuming gin isn't raw! but I can't think what else to soak them in to get the flavour out and preserve them.

Why not make a sauce for raw ice cream? I'm sure they can be frozen too...any berry can.
Or throw 'em into smoothies?
