Hi all here,

I am in my early 40's. female, just starting to go raw and leaving all the dead animals and toxic drinks behind. I have been juicing on and off for a few years and invested in a Greenstar juicer, but I need to expand my repetoire or its back to midnight munchies and the coffee monster. I've started to do sprouting and juice wheatgrass.

I have some health issues that have promted this (without sounding like a hypocondriac): skin (mild rosacea) and digestive problems, energy and motivation has been sporadic and I have mood disorders which I have sought psychiatric help in the past. I am not overweight and excercise moderately.

Also I am moving to the USA for a year in a couple of weeks and hope to really get set up for a raw food eating plan.

I am shipping my Juicer:)

Its great that there is such an interest in this and so many good stories and support,

cheers,

Taizy

Hi Taizy,
Welcome to the boards :)

I'm in England. What's the raw scene like in Ireland?

Hi Shooting star...nice to be here

I'm not quite sure what the rawfood scene is like here as I'm pretty new to it myself. All the information I am getting is online. Getting a variety of fresh fruit and Veg at a reasonable cost is a barrier- so much is imported.

I might go crazy on a diet of carrots and cabbage in the winter!

There is starting to be a good farmers market network around the country. I bought a tray of wheatgrass at my local one last Sunday and was told that they have their regular customers.

how are things in the UK?

I think there is a small but growing scene in London. I know there is interest around the country but nothing that people would notice! e.g. the only vegetarian / vegan restaurant in the town I live in has stopped doing salads (arghhh!)

I think it will grow in time and the more we start asking for raw dishes in restaurants and for raw nuts in the shops the more likely they are to appear!

I've never seen wheatgrass at my local farmers market! Wow!

Thank you all for your welcome,

I have been looking around the forum - Have started the Oil pulling - Learning how to sprout better -Followed links to articles on flouridation: Ireland is the only country in the EU that put flouride in the public water supply.

I haven't even got to the recipies yet. Am looking for natural skincare recipies, especially for suncreams.

What is lovely to read about is all the great success stories. Well done everyone

Hi and welcome to the board.
Sorry that I did not reply sooner but I was out of the country. I am in Cork (Kinsale to be exact) and have been 100% raw for over 2 years. If there is any was that I can assist you then drop me an email and I will be glad to help.

Welcome!

I also suffered with digestive issues and mood disorders as well as eating disorders, and the list goes on! LOL... I can tell you this much. Raw has helped me SO much in my quest for health.

I was essentially housebound for over a year with various illnesses, and after 30 days of raw, my chronic pain (agony, really) was GONE. I was able to stop every single "tummy" med, and I'm slowly lowering my "mental meds" (with docs OK of course).

Raw is wonderful, I think!! :D
