Is anyone else willing to come forward about a blueberry addiction? :o

In Oregon where I live, fresh local blueberries have been available for weeks now, and I'm hardly eating anything else. The U-pick price for these is as low as $1.10 a pound, which is like mana from heaven. :) (Best supermarket price I've seen yet: $3.50 a pound).

I think I've been eating at least 6 cups a DAY of these glorious little berries, every day, for weeks. I keep waiting to get sick of them, but no luck yet.

This seems to be a weird-o aspect of going raw. I remember a few months back when our supermarket carried champange mangos for a few weeks, and I ate 8-10 of those a day. And when watermelon came in June, I couldn't eat enough of it, for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Anyone else have powerful mono-food cravings on raw? This goes against the SAD logic of balanced meals and everything in moderation. Is this my body signalling me that it needs something nutritionally? Or that I'm best nurished on seasonal produce? Or perhaps I'm just bored with my diet and seeking the thrill of the unusual. Who knows. I'm going to go eat some more blueberries. :)

Oh yeah! You bet! It's a "normal" thing for your body to be going through. I feel that when one eats raw - they tend to eat more seasonally.
BTW - I have about 50 pounds of blues in my freezer. Will they taste good this winter, especially knowing it was about 98 degrees when I picked 'em!
This winter I couldn't get enough avos. Lately I can't get enough tomatoes - it varies. Don't worry about the balance, but try to keep some balance going on.

50 pounds of blueberries! Where do you live? Street address, please. I'm going to come raid your freezer in January!

I've tried to freeze a lot of berries (I have strawberries, too), but it's so hard when I prefer to eat them fresh and raw! I'll come home with 10 pounds of berries and maybe squirrel away 2-3 pounds of that for later. :p

I think it's totally normal! I see so many posts on here about "lunch: 8 bananas" or 2 lbs of cherries or whatever :)

For me right now--melons! And fresh figs. Then more melons. Then more figs. Then... oh man, I'm drooling :D

I am totally mono when I can get orange flesh mellon's. Blended they taste like heaven. It tasts good to save the liquid in a mellon like orange flesh or cantalope and then blend the mellon into its juice. Coconut blended with coconut juice is tasty too.

I adore blueberries, my father just gave me a paperbag almost full of them. Most i ended up putting in the freezer and will enjoy them this winter. I still continue to buy them at the farmer's market to eat now :)
