View Full Version : bad cold/flu - is it detox?

I've read people with more weight to lose experience detox later (I've been 98% raw since 1 July, although the first three weeks were juice fasting), and I saw a post where it said that "all colds and flue ARE detox", but I was just wondering if someone could explain more about this?

the reason i'm asking is that i very suddenly got a bad case of something in between a cold and a flue yesterday. it came so suddenly, then disappeared after 3 hours, then came back with a vengeance an hour after that again... my nose is so runny that the loo roll is now my constant companion, my neck is stiff and i've got an awful pressure in my head as well as a very dry throat (and a bit of dry cough, but not much). i used to always get colds (haven't had proper flu more than once, I thought I had, but after experience a proper flu I knew I'd never had it before!), but over the last 4 years i've hardly ever been ill. the last two years i haven't been ill at all, except feeling a bit off colour for a few days. so i am thinking that this is probably detox, but even if it is due to a bug, is it still a detox? is that because the body rids itself of yukkiness even when you've caught a bug? i remember reading something about this a while ago, but my head's just not working properly today and i was just hoping that someone could explain a bit more about this.

will stop rambling now and go to bed - i really need to get some work done today (well, a lot actually), but it's definately not going to happen right now...

anyway, hope to hear from someone over the course of the day, and hope everyone else out there are happy and healthy!!!

Love, Indie

People don't "catch" "bugs" unless they are toxic which is why they need to detoxify. IF you body was clean, why would a "bug" be there? It's there to eat the garbage.

It's ALL detox.

I agree Revvell - the flu is definitely your body trying to rid itself of something that shouldn't be there!;)

Thanks, that's good to hear! That makes it ever so slightly more bearable... I managed to sleep for 1,5 hrs, but then I woke up because my head hurt so much, and I couldn't fall back to sleep. The poor dog is being very understanding about not getting his walk, bless him (it's a Springer Spaniel!), but he's getting restless so I hope my fiancé comes back from work soon so he can take him out!

I'm still a bit confoosed though - Revvell said: "People don't "catch" "bugs" unless they are toxic which is why they need to detoxify." Does that mean that a fully detoxed person won't ever catch a cold/flu off someone? Like I said, I rarely get ill, but if I have understood this correctly, then that's just another bonus that I hadn't heard of before! Hope I'm not asking too silly questions, my head's definately not on straight today...

Feeling even worse today and there's also bits of yellow in my snot (sorry about that mental picture!) which indicates that whatever I've got is bacterial. Could it still be detox? My only joy at the moment is clinging to the hope that I'll feel better once I'm through with it...

It's ALL detox. Your body is doing what it's designed to do ~ eliminate what doesn't belong there.

We never have and we never fully detoxify as long as we live in this world.

AMEN REVVELL!!!:)

...and that's a good thing. Could you imagine if all that gunk stayed in our bodies and just piled on? The thing about our bodies is that even if we don't deliberately detox by eating right, etc. our bodies will do it for us...maybe not to the same extent - but the crap we put in has to eventually come out of our systems at some point or we would probably all die very sick and very young.;)
