Newbie from Connecticut

Hello,

I'm new to Raw Food Talk, but not new to Raw and Living Foods, though I still have alot to learn!

I'm joining Raw Food Talk because I have been trying to live in the Raw and Cooked Worlds and it hasn't worked to well for me. I gave it my all for over a year!!! And now I realize that for me, I have to be 100% for me to receive all the benefits that I experienced when I was 100% Raw for a short time. I'm hoping Raw Food Talk will give me the support I need to live the Raw Life and hopefully give me the oppurtunity to support others on this Path.

Already joined the August Challenge and look forward to being part of this Raw Food Community.

I live in Plainville which is in the Greater Hartford Area and have been wanting to start a Raw Food Group that would meet once a month in CT. I think it would be alot of fun and a great support.

Awesome! I am in Milford. I actually just moved here in April because I'm going to school in Fairfield. I'm originally from NJ and I went to college in NYC.

There is actually a raw group I just joined on meetup.com (http://rawfood.meetup.com/230/) that is based in Trumbull, but I don't know if you'd want to travel that far. I haven't gone to any of their events yet but it seems like it could be fun!

What's nice about meetup.com is that one can start one anywhere and maybe the groups can combine on occasion to make one BIG meetup.

I know Plainville well; Bristol, Harford, Terryville, Farmington, etc.

I don't know Connecticut very well (I just moved here in April from New Jersey) but I'm looking at a map and it says about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Total opposite sides of the state. Enfield is right near the Massachusetts border, while I'm way down south on Long Island Sound.

Great to receive your responses and thank you for the info. on the group in Trumbull. I'm willing to travel and would love to have a Raw Food Group that meets monthly in the Greater Hartford Area. Or perhaps we could change where we meet on a monthly basis. One month in Hartford area, one month in Fairfield or New Haven county area, etc.

I will post this on a different thread to see if there are others in CT who want to create this. Or would it be better for me to post this on Meetup.com? I don't know alot about it.

Would appreciate your input/thoughts.

I really feel I need a community of Raw Foodists I can meet with 1x month. It would be supportive and fun.

Just go to meetup.com and put your city/zip in and it will come up with meetups in your area.
