I just came up with my first Raw recipe and it is soooo yummy. I was craving a sweet potato I enjoyed in my past days. You know, the ones that are baked and then covered with nuts, a little honey and some nutmeg.

So, I set out to make my own. I peeled a sweet potato and let it soak for a few hours to remove some of the starchy taste. Then I put it in the food processor, poured some agave on it. Add a few shakes of nutmeg and cinnamon and a handful of pecans. I mixed it up until it looked like baby food.

When I opened the lid to the processor to give it a little taste, I almost couldnt stop eating it. It tasted just like my old favorite. So I just dropped it by the spoonful onto a teflex sheet and have it drying.

I swear, I could have eaten the whole bowl of it without drying it, it was that yummy. Then I wasn't sure if I should make it into a bread, cookies, or what. So cookies won out. We will see how they taste when they come out.

Just had to share this neat experience with everyone!

Excellent! What did you soak it in? Water? Rinsed and drained before putting it in the fp?

Thanks for sharing ~

Sounds yummy! I did something similar for a recipe I'm working on as well. So, soaking them...did that really help with the starchiness?

I dont remember where I read it, but it works! I soak my sweet potatoes in water for a few hours before I make anything with them. It really does remove that starchy taste. Makes sweet potato chips taste lots better!
