Has anyone else ever done the Real Age test, at http://www.realage.com? It's supposed to calculate...well, this is what the website says: "RealAge is the biological age of your body, based on lifestyle, genetics, and medical history. Depending on how well you take care of yourself, your RealAge might be years younger -- or older -- than the calendar indicates."
So I just took it out of boredom, and it said my "real age" was 2 years older than my actual age! :( But here's the ridiculous part--wanna know why it says my real age is older? Mostly because of my diet!--low grain intake, low omega-3 intake, low calcium intake, and low unsaturated fat intake... wait, what??
The questions it asks about your diet are, how often do you eat: high-fiber grains? fruit? vegetables? beans/nuts? (I just typed 'buts' LOL!) eggs/dairy? tofu/soy? red meat? fish? So apparently, because I don't eat soy, my unsaturated fat intake is too low; because I don't eat eggs and dairy, my calcium intake is too low; because I don't eat fish, my omega-3 intake is too low; and because I don't eat bread and cereal, I'm not getting enough fiber. Because, you know, obviously animal products, GMO estrogenic soy, and processed sugary flour are the only way to get proper nutrition
It really makes me upset that this is the kind of information being fed to people. This Real Age test has been around for a long time--it was created by those 2 doctors you always see on Oprah, the ones who wrote "You: the Owner's Manual." I've even seen the Real Age test promoted in magazines, not to mention on the Oprah show. But it's promoting a diet that's not much better than SAD! The test doesn't even allow you to enter in any other food info. No wonder people are so skeptical about a raw vegan diet--look at what kind of garbage they're being told! I dare them to compare a raw foodist with someone who follows their 'healthy' diet and see who's really healthier! Yeah, maybe if I go out and eat a grilled cheese sandwich and some pizza with sardines, my real age will go back down to normal
