New to raw foods... will eating hemp seed cause a positive drug test? I have to take random drug tests for work.

Hahaha! Okay, wow, I just had a total panic attack about this! :rolleyes: I did a drug test a few weeks ago for a job I'm (hopefully) about to get, and I've NEVER done marijuana or ANY kind of drugs in my whole life... but I do make smoothies with hemp protein powder.

I'd been told hemp seeds and marijuana were from different plants so I thought there was absolutely NO thc in hemp seeds... then I clicked on that link out of curiosity and read that seeds have trace amounts of thc and... :eek: So I ran to the fridge, checked to be sure the brands we use do the Test Pledge, checked the company's web site, downloaded like 8 articles and studies about it...

Phew! So it turns out you'd have to eat at least 12 ounces of hemp seeds or 7 tbsp hemp oil per day to even have a chance at testing positive, and the site says that still gives you a wide safety margin. Ok. I feel much better. :D Thanks for the Test Pledge link, that's really reassuring to know these companies are setting good standards.

Hemp seeds are one of my favorite salad ingredients! Yum!

But my teenagers do love to tease me about having so much hemp seed in the house. You should have seen their faces when the 5# bag I ordered from Amazon showed up on our doorstep! He he
