View Full Version : Anything to cure the PMS munchies?

I'm wondering what raw delights will quench the hunger I feel when I'm PMSing. It seems that I just want LOTS & LOTS of whatever....especially sweets.

I had Green Smoothies earlier and that held me down for most of the day. But the smoothie effect was over by dinner and I jumped into a cooked vegan meal.

My desire to munch is much greater when my hormones are gearing up for the big event. I'd love to hear what's worked for others. Thanks

I really enjoy taking a small handful of nuts(preferably walnuts, pistaschios, or macadamias, but whatever you like will work) and pouring a bit of agave or honey on top and sprinkling some salt and mixing it together. It's sweet, it's salty, it's very satisfying :)

You just gave me an idea. I wonder if you take that mixture and dehyrate it will it taste like honey roasted nuts???

I have been reading Green for Life by Victoria Boutenko and the people in her study stopped craving junk food and sweets for the most part after a couple weeks of doing green smoothies on a daily basis. You can't just stop. It's not like a pill that you take just when you need it.

I don't have Alissa's book in front of me, but there are quite a few easy rich recipes in there. ussually something with carob powder, nuts and dates works well. Also, I have to agree I do the green smoothies regurly and don't really get those PMS cravings anymore, and sure don't miss them. Good luck with it
