the last few days ive been feeling kind of nauseous. usually i pack in quite a good amount of food, but the last few days ive been eating less and less because im just not up to it, the thought of food turns me off. so ive been going kinda sparse during the day (always a super-smoothie in the morning though) and then a BIG salad for dinner, and then ive been binging after that on raw bars & nuts and heavy things, b/c i was finding that the heavy foods calmed my tummy down and made me LESS nauseous--

this led me to thinking that maybe my body is trying to detox, so its telling me not to eat, so it can go to work?? and if i eat heavy food i stop feeling nauseous b/c my body has to stop detoxing and go to work on digesting instead??

i know im detoxing on other levels; ive had a few breakouts when my skin was all clear before, and my saliva has been VERY acidic causing teeth sensitivities which ive never had before.

the last few days, also, ive had diarrhea and bad gas... ive always had a problem with gas :( but its definitely smelling FOUL. (sorry for TMI)

i had my smoothie this morning, and ive just been drinking water since then, and i FINALLY started to feel hungry, so i made myself a very small salad, more simply than usual, and after taking a FEW BITES felt nauseous again, had to put it down, and had gas already! after a few bites! how is that possible??

im trying to figure out if its just detox, or if im doing something wrong.

i have been eating a lot of fats, ive been fine with it and was really craving it but maybe my bodys had enough now? i usually have in my smoothie: hemp protein powder, flax seed, sesame seeds, TBSP coconut oil, maca & cacao powder (both fatty, right?) and then in my salads i usually have 1/2 - 1 avocado, sometimes a bit of an oil, and hemp seeds. so i might be over doing the fat thing, although its been fine so far.

also, i only started adding the cacao powder recently.... can that make you feel nauseous??? i have no idea.

ive also been eating more sprouts lately than usual. ???

OR it could just be my body saying, i need a rest from FOOD, in general. am i supposed to be fasting??

any opinions? :(

cheers

you could try a water or juice fast and see how it feels. i did a four day juice fast a couple of months ago. it was mostly fresh-squeezed orange juice, and it was fantastic. i just drank juice whenever i was hungry.

Do what I do and fast on the weekends, on coconut water, regular water just for the weekend and a good green superfood powder to clean ya out. See how that goes. Simple easy, nothing 2 extreme.

i like the sounds of trying something like that, but i havent got a juicer, &im a bit dubious about doing either a water fast or orange juice, as im insulin resistant and have to watch my blood sugar.

maybe the coconut water &green powder would be okay though. hmm.

thanks guys :o

If you have a Vitamix or other blender, you could blend the fruit and/or veggies with just a little water (enough to cover the blades) and strain through a nut-milk bag. I've done this many times when I wanted juice, but didn't want to pull out my juicer and it works like a charm!

Hmm when I do my fasts on the weekend I never use any fruit juices, Just water with MSM spirulina, coconut water with spirulina, and a good green superfood.. all u need is well.. a knife, and water. hehe. By the weekend Im over the whole juicing blending, It's like my vacation from it... Then Im re-charged for the week ahead.

thanks for the suggestions :)

i used your tip, rawk... only i dont have a nut mylk bag so i used a very tedious process of double straining through a fine mesh colander and then through a tea strainer- LOL! it didnt yield very much juice, but i only did one cucumber & one apple. its yummy, anyways, and im not feeling nauseous from it yet, so thanks for the ideas.

im going to get a proper juice from the juice bar downtown today, dunno if ill get something simple or they have one called belly rub, with ginger &fennel &things, which might be nice on my tum.

i think ill also pick up a couple coconuts, &more cucs.

Q: do those young white coconuts have more water in them than the ...er.... hairy ones? LOL. you can tell im a coconut pro. TBH, ive only even busted open one. a hairy one  the meat was good but pretty solid, not the "gel" that some people talk about, and there wasnt a whole lot of water either. is that normal?

Yep the white ones usually have about 2 cups of yummy water in them.

One of the greatest things about going raw was finally listening to what my body wanted and not what my head was saying. I remember the day I was sitting and all of a sudden it came to me, just that! It was such a revelation. So, here I am asking you......Is your body telling you to fast?????

Are you drinking plenty of water? Your hunger could be masked by you actually being dehydrated.

Don't know how true this is but someone at the coop were I get my coconuts from told me they don't sell ypoung ones because they are prepared in Formaldehyde. Just an FYI of what I heard, again, don't know how tru that is.

Yeah a few years ago that was the new raw alarm for the week. Some people dont use it. But I have read tests done by I think the owner of Rawvolution who tested to see if any traces were inside the coconut, nothing was found. So I keep on truckin my nuts. I just bought 6 for my fast this weekend
