Greetings,
Somehow I missed making an introduction before I posted on the other topic boards, but here I am now. I started becoming interested in raw foods when I noticed that going off cooked grains with my husband on his low carb diet made me feel MUCH better all over. I'd had painful intestinal cramps consistently for a few years before that, and low energy as well. Since easing into mostly-raw, I now require a lot less down time and the intestinal distress is gone! Most days I'm 95-100% raw but I don't worry too much about sticking to it when I go out to eat on the weekends. I do lightly steam the tougher vegetables at home on occasion as well. I've been vegetarian for 12 years and probably will stay mostly raw and vegetarian forever. Every time I overeat cooked food (which for me is more than one cooked meal every few days) I feel sluggish, which is so disheartening that I can't wait to get back on track when it happens. It is good to have found such a nice community. Hi, y'all!
