I use index cards as a way to invoke changes within myself. A friend told me about this method years ago and quite frankly I didn’t believe it would work…but I tried it anyway and was amazed at the results so I thought I’d share.
On 3x5 index cards write a positive affirmation of something that you want to improve, do, or become. It is very important to write it as if it is already a fact, in present tense. Make it short and sweet. Make yourself a stack of about 20 cards. Once one is firmly set in your subconscious…replace it with a new one. Read the cards several times a day, to your self, out loud, in a firm voice, in a funny voice…it doesn’t matter as long as you read them.
For example…
“You are what you repeatedly do”
“Eating raw foods and exercising daily is my way of life. It’s who and what I am”
“I am a butterfly”
“Never stop digging until you find what you are looking for” Dog Philosophy
“I focus on raw nourishing foods and my body responds with vibrant health”
Now it’s your turn. How about we each write down a few positive affirmations that may help someone else because together we can accomplish great things. :D

That is a wonderful idea! Thanks so much for sharing. It's not easy to come up with postivie affirmations all the time.
Let's see.....
I am a raw vegan and love the way I feel
My health is so much stronger now that I'm raw
Continuous effort, not strength or intelligence is the key to unlokcing our potential.
I have the most amazing family and I am grateful for them
Yogi is a practice that brings peace to my heart and strength to my body
Whew! I'm on a roll.:D

It IS a good idea. That's kinda what the daily appreciations thread is for me - my daily index cards...

a couple years ago my mum gave me something like that... theyre called heart cards and they have postive, inspiring, healing messages on them... theyre wonderful. theres loads of them, too.
i like the idea of making my own though, taking goals and writing them in the present tense as if theyre accomplished. like the whole visualization thing.

I LOVE doing this! It works so well too! I also do a technique where I record myself saying it and then listen to it on my iPod. :)
If you're having a hard time coming up with good affirmations for yourself, try writing out questions in the positive... so instead of "Why do I always fall off the wagon?" say "Why is eating raw food so natural and easy for me?" The idea came from a book called "Afformations", it's much easier to ask these questions than to say the affirmation. Try it. :) Others are...
Why does money flow to me so easily?
How come people are so nice to me and always say YES?
Why does everyone in my life support and love me so much?
OR traditional ones...
I love raw foods, they make me feel amazing!
I wake up energized and motivated to take on the world!
I am a millionaire and I share my love with everyone.
Enjoy. :)

The question thing is very cool. Really gives one pause to check out the answers one gives oneself, doesn't it?

Yes I agree Revvell. It also helps because if you have some resistance to a statement type of affirmation, a question is a bit more gentle and feels less like a lie. Then you start looking for all the reasons and the ways in which it IS true and you find out - there are tons! So it works quite well. :)
Keep sharing your affirmations fellow rawbies! :)
