Here's what I eat on a typical day. Not all raw, mind you.
Banana x1
apple x2
2 green smoothies with kale, spinach, collard greens
3-4 8oz. organic carrot juice.
1/2 cup raw almonds
1/2 cup raw walnuts
pumpkin spice kashi bar
2L of water with lemon in it.
1 oz of flax oil and 1oz of coconut oil
Apple juice (organic - not raw) 2 cups / day
Salad for lunch with romaine lettuce, onions, cherry tomatos, peppers with olive oil and balsam vinegarette

Whenever possible I buy organic. Carrots are a must for organic for juicing.

What woudl you add to this?

I'm still working on this. I had 2 pieces of unos pizza when I got home last night as I felt I needed some sort of fat, but I'm assuming that this type of fat is not good.

If you are new to it - How do you feel?? I always suggest just adapt to eating raw and time will bring to light anything that's missing or needed. Get enough Fruit, Veggies with some Greens throughout the day and add in a little Fat and you are good to go. In addition, make sure you eat enough and enjoy what you are doing as well. Throw in some activity, a positive outlook and some sunshine. Can't go wrong there :)

Well you are right...that is not a good kind of fat.

You ate plenty of nuts and olive oil so you actually had plenty of fat. You could add avocados but it's not necessary since you have plenty of fat already.

I think your diet looks pretty good. If your still hungry add more volume or try adding more veggies to yourjuicing. Juicing vegetables is great for combating hunger.

I've been doing this for a while now. Feel the same. Not as much energy as I want. I believe this to be the fact that I'm still a sugar addict. Coffee in the morning (always decaf) with 3 tsp cane sugar and cream. Organic but pasteurized apple juice, 2 cups a day.

you gotta cut the coffee with sugar and cream, you'll feel better if you do. If you need the "jump start" in the morning, make a smoothie with frozen strawberries, frozen cherries, banana, fresh OJ, and a teaspoon of raw cacoa powder + tsp. of agave, it's delicious and will take the place of the caffeine in the coffee.

what cacoa and what is agave? I've never heard of them. Did you mean cocoa, as in chocolate powder?

raw cacoa is raw chocolate. I buy it at my health food store, it's so much better than regular cocoa powder. Agave is a low glycemic, it's very sweet, and it's raw also. It comes in a bottle like honey.

I am off coffee!!! It has been about a month now. I still miss it in my head, but I am over the need for it. Do I feel better? I don't know. It was kind of a disappointment that I didn't see an amazing difference in my energy or health. I mostly drink almond milk in the morning now. I use raw almond butter, vanilla, and water in a blender with a few pieces of ice. If I have raw chocolate powder I add that in to get some more flavor or agave to make it sweeter. Good luck! It took me several tries before I kicked the coffee habit.

I never do caffine. I don't get it or understand it. When I use to drink Mt. Dew and dunkin donuts, I never realized how anxious it made me. Probably why I use to have so many panic attacks. Well I stopped the caffine and rarely get anxiety. Caffine is SH*T and it's useless. For the people that are addicted to it, I don't get it. It brings you up and brings you down. Just like any other drug.

I drink coffee because I smoke and I associate coffee with cigarette. I could care less about the caffine. Yes, I know smoking is bad, I'm getting my mind in gear (making excuses) to get ready for quitting , 20 day juice fast, then 100% raw.

Figure I'll do this a couple days after my baby is born as I'll be so busy the withdrawals will be the least on my mind.

Add some more fruits if you need more energy, otherwise the diet looks okay. Can you switch to an herbal tea instead of coffee? You still get the feeling that you are having something hot with your smokes, until you are ready to quit, which you should do immediately. Last year I watched my mom struggle to breathe for 13 hours before she died. She was 59 and smoked since she was 15. I never want to see another person go through that again.

just toss those cigs in the garbage and walk away. There's tar in there just like what they pave the street with, and your sucking that into your lungs, your gonna feel like s... until you stop. JUST DO IT. thats all I'm gonna say.

The best thing I do to give myself is make green lemonade:

juice three apples
a big handful of greens,
a whole lemon, peel and all

maybe cucumber, maybe celery

over ice

I used to be a lethargic wimp, now I clean two houses a day:)

p.s. my heart goes out to you, coffee is really really hard but don't give up!!!!

Hey there Garden Granny. I made your drink. Got some raw cocoa powder and some Agave. Never had Agave before, that stuff is damn sweet. Tastes like corn surup but 100x better. I can't believe it's all natural.

Anyhow, any recommendations as to how much OJ and how many strawberries and cherries. I don't know much about cherries, I have dark red ones and I had to take out the seeds. I used about 6 large strawberries, 10 cherries, 1/2 cup OJ, banana, 1 tbsp agave (sugar addict) and 2tsp cocoa powder (chocolate addict).

It tastes good, but a bit sour for my taste, did I do something wrong with the mix?

Here's one for you, that I make all the time.

4 Lg Strawberries
1 Banana
1/2 Kiwi
1 tbsp raw honey
1 tbsp raw coconut oil.
about 10 ice cubes.

Mix in blender and drink. Tastes awesome.

Hey there Kevin, glad you tried it, I used FROZEN cherries & strawberries (about 1 cup strawberries & 2 cups cherries) 1 or 2 VERY RIPE bananas, (the riper they are - the sweeter) I used freshly squeezed oranges (2), + added about 1/2 to 1 cup of water, enough to make everything blend, + the agave & cocao, If it's not sweet enough I just add a little more agave.

Thanks for posting your smoothie recipe, sounds good!
