Hi everyone! Nice forum you have here. I'm from Moss Beach, CA. I'd love to meet more raw types in this area. I went to a raw party and there were some truly wonderful people there. I had a lot of fun. I'm going to some more events soon.

I've been eating raw since May of this year. I've been all raw except for 3 times when I succumbed to cravings and ate cooked food. It was worth it to learn what cooked feels like after eating raw for awhile (horrible, haha). I like to eat fruit during the day and salad at night usually. I drink a lot of green smoothies. I typically eat very little fat, no oils or anything like that, just 1/2 an avocado or some nuts with my salad sometimes. But when I go to a raw potluck or restaurant I pretty much go for it and enjoy.

I like to spend a lot of time outside. I go surfing every day, ride my bike and walk on the beach or in the hills around here. I do a little meditation in the morning. I have a garden for the first time, where I'm growing greens, primarily. It's so nice to eat the fresh greens!

Welcome welcome, moncha moncha! :p

There are quite a few of us from the Bay Area here. I'm from the South Bay. ...and I'm ashamed to say I didn't know where Moss Beach was. Thought it was down near Monterey or something. Well, now I know! :)

I'm from SF. Nice to meet you! I don't know where Moss Beach is either? North of SF or south?

Hi the_lab_rat and Cindy. Thanks for dropping in. It's great to know there are quite a few Bay Area people on this forum. We should have a potluck or meet at Cafe Gratitude. :)

Moss Beach is really small. It's about 1/2 hour south of the city on hwy 1, near Half Moon Bay.

A potluck would be so awesome! That's such a cool idea. There are so many Bay Area folks here, we really should all meet up at some point! I'd love to meet some new raw friends :)

I'd be up for either! I love Cafe Gratitude...but most of the time I end up there by myself b/c there are only so many people willing to let me drag them to a scary raw vegan restaurant. ;) It would be nice to go with other raw foodies. I got to meet Barose at the Ferry Building famer's market (at Alive's stand), but only briefly.

Down by Half Moon Bay...now I get it. I'm originally from San Diego...and even though I've been here 3 yrs, it's sometimes apparent that I don't get out of the city often enough. LOL.

Hey Cindy, let me know next time you go to Cafe Gratitude. I'll meet you there. Maybe you want to to go too the_lab_rat? That place is great, eh?

the_lab_rat- I'm glad you like the potluck idea as much as I do. Let's organize one. What do you think would be the best way?

Hey guys, I'm totally up for a Cafe Gratitude meeting too! I love that place, and yeah, I'm getting tired of eating all by myself. I feel so out of place at those big shared tables :)

Hmm, as for organizing the potluck... I'm not so great at organizing things, but I guess the first step would probably be making a post about it where more people will see it, like on the main discussion section or maybe the events section. Then maybe some of the other people will have ideas about how to put it all together...yeah, we can leave the hard work for someone else :p

Okay, good idea, I'll start a thread for the potluck in the events section. Hopefully enough people will see it there.

How about us 3, and anyone else who sees this thread and wants to come, meet at Cafe Gratitude soon? My schedule is pretty flexible so anytime you two want to go is probably fine. Which location do you like to go to Princess?

Confession - I snuck by there today since I got my car serviced down the street. ;) I usually go to the 20th and Harrison one, but I love the one on ninth...it's bigger and I love the sun room. I could do this Sunday, but I'm house sitting in San Rafael - so it would have to be the one up there (which is way far for you guys). I'm gone next weekend. I could probably do during the week though if that works for you guys? Other wise not until the 18th or 19th. :(

I like the one on 9th better too! It just has a friendlier feel to it :)

Hmm, usually my schedule is pretty open, but this weekend I'm gone, next week I have job interviews... so probably not until the following week. Are you guys going to see Victoria Boutenko in Berkeley on the 15th? If so, we could all meet up there and go to the Berkeley CG afterward! If not, and you want to meet up earlier, then you guys feel free to go without me, and I'll catch you next time--I mean, we can always do it more than once...there's no such thing as too much Cafe Gratitude! :D

Yes I'm going to see Victoria Boutenko in Berkeley. I'm down for CG after, definitely.

I've only been to the CG on Harrison. I'd like to check out the one on 9th sometime.

I started a thread for the potluck in the Raw Food Events section. :)
