Newbie here - just watched Alissa's video... and I am amazed! OMG I want to start NOW! Yesterday even! Geez, she makes it look so easy.
I am inspired to the go grocery shopping and sticking to the produce section! I think I am very close to trying this all raw thing now. I can't really say I've attempted it yet. Just had some green smoothies which are yummy. But this living foods thing makes perfect sense to me. I would like to jump on the 30 day challenge this month but think I better wait till I can get Alissa's book. Wish I already had it now!

Oh good! So glad you got to see Alissa's DVD. Isn't it amazing? It IS easy to eat 100% raw. It's Earth's diet.
And so glad to hear you like the green smoothies! Cool!

Isn't her dvd amazing! It's really inspiring. She really does make it look easy. I got a papaya yesterday at the store to make the banana papaya pudding.
My 7yodd was looking at her cookbook yesterday and asked me what it meant, "Living on Live Foods". She said, "Live foods. Does that mean that they crawl around?" :D I had to explain to her what "alive" food is. She never thought of apples, carrots and bananas in those terms before.

My friend has been 100% raw for 6 mos now. She went to Alissa's class and has her DVDs. I started watching the DVD when I was at her house but I have to say, those gals sitting her kitchen drove me up a wall. All that giggling and talking on top of each other... I kept yelling for them to shut up so that Alissa to get on with the show! :)
Sorry to say, I just couldn't continue to watch it. I'm sure based on what you all have said, the DVD has excellent information. I just wish there was a way to mute the girlfriends..... :(

Does anyone know anything about those women in the DVD? If they had health problems that were reduced/eliminated, how much weight they lost, and if they continued eating Raw? It was amazing how much younger they both looked afterwards, especially the redhead!

I bought the book first thinking that I didn't need the dvd, but I just got the dvd and it really makes it easier to grasp the whole idea. I loved it! I made the portabella mushroom with guacamole topped with tomatoes and olives with braggs poured on top. It tasted AWESOME. I didn't measure a thing just did it the way the viedo showed.

Ok, I couldnt stand it any longer... I just bought Alissa's book. I want it delivered yesterday! LOL
I have ate all raw today so far (2 smoothies- 1 green and 1 all fruit, a small salad with romaine, tomatoes, raw cashew pieces, green onions & cold pressed olive oil, thats all I had to put on it, fresh blueberries, a banana) and it is now 5 PM here :D but the heat here is so stinkin' unbearable today, all I feel like doing is taking a nap!
I probably made a mistake trying to go all raw today, as I havent gotten to the store yet to stock up on stuff. I dont have a clue what I am going to eat for dinner... I keep thinking about all that delicious food Alissa made in her video... for which I dont think I have all the ingredients to any of it

It would have been nice for the two ladies in the DVD to shut the hell up while Alissa was talking, as I didn't really care what they were saying except for the occasional good question. I guess that style is more interesting than her directly in front of the camera talking to us.

I would like to jump on the 30 day challenge this month
I encourage you to join the RAWgust festival. The train has already left the station but I'm sure your welcome to jump aboard and from what I have seen of this group everyone will reach out to give you a helping hand.

VERY COOL!! ladies or no ladies... the DVD RAWKS anywayz! Cuz the info is so wonderful (especially for newbies) I had no clue what this lifestyle was about - and watching that DVD really helped me a lot... I'm so glad you got to watch it -- and I'm so glad you ordered the book!!
those ladies became my inspiration in my first month. I brought the DVD to work with me and freeze framed their b4 and after photos on my computer... cuz if they could lose that much weight and look so amazing in 30 short day - then by golly - I COULD TOO.
when I would get discouraged - I would just remember those pics .. envision how different they both looked!! and it got me thru another day!
YEP ... JUMP IN WITH BOTH FEET!! you're gunna love the ride! ;)
and hey TURBOLIFT... I've been meaning to tell you...
that has to be the CUTEST AVATAR ever!!! I looove that pic - it really puts a smile on my face!! heheheee!! tooo cute! :D

Ok, I am going back through the video again, killing time till Alissa's book gets here and making a shopping list but I dont understand what that dark liquid was she put on the portabella mushrooms with guacamole? Nama Shoya? or something like that? I would do a search on here for it but I dont have a clue how to spell it. What is it and where can I get it??
Thanks again everyone!

nama shoyu... its basically a raw soya sauce. NONE of the HFS in my area carry it...... & i cant be bothered to order it online so i do without. :)
you can also use braggs liquid aminos instead... same issue for me, cant find it anywhere. im not suffering without it :)

That is so funny about the ladies. It bothered my mom and my hubby too. But the video is so inspiring and makes you want to jump right into the raw foods. It really opened my eyes to trying new fruits and veggies that I found in the market. Well, at least the fruits....I am still leary of new veggies for some reason.
I wish Alissa would make another video. Not to replace the one she already made but more like a Part II with new recipes and new ladies and everything. It would be nice to have that extra boost every now and then when I am feeling weak.:o Just having her presence on the videos is so uplifting and gives me the feeling that I can do this!

A new video is an excellent idea, but I'd like to see a male there too and maybe a child or two. Not the same two people throughout, in other words.
