I am new to the board and new to the raw food diet. I've only just started doing research into thid lifestyle and haven't really plunged into it yet. I'm not sure how it all works. I am from Virginia. I am also trying to figure out how to nevigate your board and where to post certain things so if I am off a little, please forgive. I used to own a board so I have some knowledge of them.
I have several medical conditions that are leading me to look for alternative choices. I have severe hypothyroid disease, hemachromotosis, and asthma. I've been a vegetarian for almost 13 years now but do eat cheese and milk sometimes. The motivating factor in all of this is health and weight management. I used to weigh in at 105 to 110 at 5 foot 4 inches. I weighed that for years without waivering. Then I went through a divorce and dropped down to 100 but I was able to eat a ton of food and felt great. Then I suddenly rocketed up to 117 and could barely eat anything to just maintain that. That was all within 6 months. Now I am down to 112 to 110 but have to fight with food all day and it has just become too much. I am hoping that I will be able to learn about the raw food movement and take the challenge. It is nice to be here.
