1. Does cellulite become more obvious when losing weight? My thighs are full
of ne'er seen before craters. Why?
2. Does your body hold more water when the weather is hot? Why sudden
camel-like reactions?
3. Does your skin become brighter? My old cosmetics are now visibly too light.
4. Do you experience bouts of high energy & then slump into sudden
tiredness?
5. Is it true that certain herbal combinations will actually help to flush fat out
of your system? If so, what are they?

Hey trugoddess,
Well I'm totally not a raw guru, but maybe I can help with two or three of the questions... or at least one and a half :p
1. As I understand it, cellulite has to do with bands of tissue in the skin and how they interact with our fat cells. I've noticed as I lost weight my cellulite at first became more visible, then started going away a bit. Maybe when we lose weight our skin has been stretched out so it loses some elasticity, allowing the cellulite to protrude more. Another thought is, maybe muscle loss makes the cellulite more obvious.
2. That has always happened to me, but happens to a slightly lesser extent now that I'm raw. The only info I could find says our bodies sometimes aren't as efficient at removing excess water during hot weather  Maybe when it's hot our bodies want to hold onto the water to prevent us from dehydrating?
3. A lot of people say it does. My skin is clearer (much less acne) and less oily since going vegan, and even more since going raw.
4. Weird, I do have bouts of tiredness at certain times most days. I feel like my internal body clock is more regular. But that's probably not what you're asking about..
5. If you find out what they are, let me know! :D

And here's a 6th question:
#6. Do you find that spiritually you seem more clear? I'm experiencing a flow
of rather profound insights and a deepening sense of clarity. I don't try to
make things happen. I'm just trusting that everything is unfolding as it
should, whether it appears that way in the outer world or not. So, here's
part B to the question: What's food got to do with it? What's the
connection between food intake and spiritual growth?

Like Mama always said...garbage in, garbage out. This holds true with food too, weird huh?

Trugoddess: I'm no expert, but I've HEARD that fat cells become MORE visible just before your body sheds them...boy I hope that's true!! It's kinda like, your body has to break up the cells that you are getting ready to flush out.....

Oh man I wish I knew that! I fell off the raw band wagon last week because I was so upset at the mass accumulation of cellulite on my body. I model, so there was no time for cellulite to move in and then out... so I went back to SAD! And it made me feel like crap, so now I am back on raw and if the cellulite gets worse, I'll just know that it will get better. I guess you have to hit the bottom before coming back up?

Yeah, i'm glad to hear the speculation that cellulite breaks up before flushing out. I hope that holds true for me, as well. I've never seen cottage cheese like this before:-).

Hey there Sista Girrrl... okay truGoddess... I'm answering these from a personal stand point... considering I'm not a medical professional and all... just a ... rawbie that looooves my new lifestyle!!
okay... hmmmm... lets see...
#1) I did notice that as the fat seemed to be dissolving (not sure if that was what it was actually doing but that's what it seemed to be doing!) it did seem to get kinda (gross....) jello'y... (yuck!) and more crater'y. It was what I called my 'ugly duckling stage!'... I thankfully - seem to be coming out of that .. ahem.... a little  ! It is definitely less now than it was last month - so that's a good thing! (whew!!)
#2) Don't know why -- but I definitely do retain water when it is warm. The way I get thru that... is drink more water - and strangely enough - it seems to flush the retained fluids out of me. I also stay away from spicy foods, and salt... the seem to increase the swelling... It's all rather odd actually - cuz I perspire A LOT... I used to say ... I sweat like a man! (cuz i do...!:o ) but I realized that was not necessarily a good thing to profess over myself... so now I just say I 'glow'.... A LOT!! LOL!!
#3) I don't wear foundation, so I dunno about that - but -- when you start getting the 'raw glow'... your skin does just that -- it glows from within -- giving you a kind've .. well... glowing appearance! so perhaps that's why you makeup is looking too light!
#4) OMG YES!! I've even fallen asleep a couple of times at my computer at work!! (how embarressing!) I'm assuming we're doing something wrong - like some kind of sugar crash or something. Although - for me - since I've cut fruit out of my diet (except coconut - which has no sugar to speak of)... I'm not crashing like I used to and my bouts of exhaustion are less. I'm thinking perhaps it's detox too. but for me (finishing up on my 4th month now) .. it does seem to be getting better! (thank goodness!)
#5) I do believe that there are herbal combinations that will help one to flush fat - personally I don't know what they are. I am using the very nasty tasting GSE - organic (grapefruit seed extract - 15 drops in 8 oz of water 3x a day)... that's when I noticed the jello'y cellulite appear (gross!) but I've continued to take it (despite the taste) and I think the consistancy of taking it - is helping... I've been taking it a month now (I think...) and I am noticing a difference in how the cellulite is looking and areas where the fat deposits seem to be shrinking. It's working for me! I know that's not necessarily an herbal supplement though.
I think if you did a search - you would probably find all kinds of 'herbal stuff' for weight loss - just make sure what it is you're taking and that it will work hand in hand with the raw lifestyle.
:D

IN MY HUMBLE OPINION.... ABSOLUTLEY YES!
I think when you are eating a SAD diet - there is a blockage - a clogging if you will of your senses. Your body is soo busy trying to process all the crap and trying to keep you alive that it's sometimes harder to hear 'Spirit'.
When you are eating vibrant foods - it's a clear channel ... you are open to recieving clear directions, your mind is being fed vibrant foods and you are operating on a 'higer vibrational level'. You can see clearly... you can think clearly... you are in 'tune' with your surroundings. You are one with the universe... that sounds so 'hippie' and 'out there'... but it is my absolute belief.
REMEMBER... we are FIRST ~ SPIRITUAL BEINGS having a human experience... not visa versa.
Your body is nothing more than the 'suit' that your Spirit is wearing right now -- Your body is the vehicle you are using to operate in this 'realm' right now. When your vehicle is operating in the perfection to which it was created... then the Spirit within can do it's job without hinderance!!
Just like a car - take care of it and it will get you where you're going. Don't take care of it -- and eventually it will still take you were you're going... but perhaps with a flat tire along the way - or engine trouble... and the cost to fix the car!! So why not just spend the money to take care of the car BEFORE it breaks! it's less expensive to maintain it -- than fix it!
jes my humble opinion!! :D

Hi, I was just wondering ... Some of you are saying that fat cells are more noticeable before they get flushed out ... Is this true for abdominal fat too? It seems that the flab on my stomach has gotten softer and there is more to pinch in the last week, even though I've been eating raw and keeping my exercise routine.

I always told myself that it's like you were a tightly packed sausage before. As you lose weight your skin doesn't bounce back as quickly as the weight loss so things are softer and jigglier until the skin catches up.
lol NO Idea how true it is, but it's what i've always pictured.

Makes sense kodajess. yesterday I notice that my arms jiggled underneath during my workout. That hadn't happened before. Then I realized that it hadn't happened because my arms had been filled tight with fat! Now, as I'm losing, my skin doesn't have as much fat it fill the avaiable space. I believe that's also why my facial skin appears darker on the cheeks. It'll all be good in time.

I have definitely found a spiritual connection between raw and a sense of clarity. I have been working through some serious challenges recently and I could just not think clearly about what I needed to do. I was really in panic mode. I wasn't sleeping because I was so worried about this problem and how to resolve it and I was eating so much SAD CRAP which really just made things worse and my thinking more muddy!:(
I have been on and off raw for almost a year and a half now so I knew what I needed to do. From experience I was absolutely convinced that if I went back to my raw diet that my thinking would become clear and I would be able to figure out what I needed to do. So on July 17th I went back to my raw diet and I am not kidding - it only took a few days for me to start feeling my thinking getting clearer. I start figuring things out and stared taking the actions needed to resolve my challenges and things are starting to look up!:p I would say 100% for me, based on my experience anyway - I can't speak for anyone else, going back to raw was the answer.:) :)

I was just wondering the same thing. I meant to ask, but kept forgetting. My fat is 'squishier' now.....softer and squishy.
