Hello Everyone,
I am a 25 year old sourthern gal from good ol' North Carolina. This is my second attempt at becoming a raw foodist. One year ago, I began a raw food journey only to fall off the wagon and slip into the atkins diet. Now after losing only 60pds (I still have 50pds to go), and feeling like crap, I realize that if I was good to my body, my body would be good to me. For the few weeks that I did remain raw, I experience regular sleep patterns, increased energy, clarity, weight loss, clearer skin, and I was always in a good mood. (WOW, why did I quit a living foods lifestyle to do Atkins:confused: .) Anyway, there is no need to cry over spilled milk, I look foward to feeling that way again.
I have been overweight and I have suffered from depression all of my life. I am excited about the journey that I have chosen to take, and with the help from God and the support of my new online family:) I know that this will be my last attempt to live a healthy life.

Welcome back to the raw foods lifestyle! You seem to have a very healthy outlook on your dietary path thus far, as well as regarding life in general.
I'm certain you'll feel much better after having been on Atkins before.:p
May you have good health and much happiness!
With Love. (See...? I DO love you!;) )

Hey,
I just read your posting about your challenges regarding weight loss and the raw foods lifestyle. I just started myself, but I have tried and failed soooo many other methods more times than I'd like to admit. So please try not to get too down on yourself for your struggles with this. It's hard, but you aren't alone! And give yourself a pat on the back for even having the strength to keep trying. It shows that you do care about your life! You could've just said, "I quit," and loaded up on cheeseburgers, smothered this and greasy that." But you didn't! Not to mention you lost 60lbs! That's a HUGE DEAL! Congrats! That alone motivated me to back away from the french fries for good! :)
Everyday I'm learning that this thing called life is HARD AS HECK, but it's also BEAUTIFUL beyond comprehension. Please try to stay optimistic, you can do it because you deserve it!
Thanks for inspiring me!
Peace and blessings,

Welcome, I think North Carolina is such a beautiful place to live. I've been to Bryson City and hope to soon visit Asheville, NC.

This site has definitely been an encouragement to me, and I know it will be to you as well. I have "met" so many wonderful people who have accomplished amazing things by being raw, and on days where I trip or start feeling bad that I'm not where I want to be yet, reading the experiences of others gives me a boost.
May God bless your quest for health with the food He made!
Blessings,
Shoney
