I thought I had just about every uncook book out there and I have to say quite a few were a big disappointment. I purchased Rawvolution (Matt Amsden) Sunday and oh my gosh I have made 3 recipes out of it and they were all fantastic. Each page has a full color photograph of beautiful raw foods (we eat with our eyes first, yes?). If anyone is looking for a great uncook book without a long list of ingredients in most of the recipes - try this. This one and Alissa's is where I should have started and stopped. I do like the pictures of Julianno's book but his ingredients are long and sometimes hard to come by. The recipes I have tried though were great (if you are tired of salads, salads, salads, these books are a wonderful addition. Just FYI. ;)

Rasberry!!!! I am so glad to hear this! Dh and I went to the book store YESTERDAY...I had heard the book was good, but it LOOKED even better! I decided NOT to pay the almost $35 for the book, came home and ordered it (with shipping) for about $20!!! Of course it will take me a week to 14 days to get it, but I'm fasting right now, so it works out. I can't wait to get it!!
Thanks for sharing!!

Thank you for the book advice!
I, too (and I suspect many others on this board!) have unwisely spent money on uncook books I never use. (I do have Alissa's book, of course, and use IT all the time!)
May you have a great day!

I really like RAWvolution, too.
But, for me, I had to use less garlic and less namo shoyu than he does. It's pretty heavy in some of his recipes.

Doggone it! I knew I should've stayed away. Every time I come to this board, I'm spending more money. <sigh> :D

Kristensraw is right - I too do not use as much garlic and I do not use nama shoyu since it has wheat in it - I use wheat free tamari instead. I also cut the recipes in half because it makes alot of food. Just like anything you have to 'play' with the recipes. I made the mock tuna fish tonight and I swear it looked exactly like tuna fish salad - blew my mind. Even my son liked it. I did not have the dulse yet (ordered it) but next time I make it with the dulse I am sure it will taste like it too. It was delicious - big kisses to Matt.

yep, i also like rawvolution, the same reason as you i love the pictures. unless i have a picture i don't really have a passion to make it.
i also like the little symbols at the top of the reciepes showng the equipment and simplicity of the recipes.
Alissa's book is also great. it was the second one i got and it helped me get to know raw and also stay raw. the advice in the book is invaluable, so much more than a recipe book. Thanks Alissa for helping me find and stay raw :)
best wishes

Has anyone noticed if there are a variety of nutless recipes in that book? I am looking for nutless.
