Hi.
I feel like I've been a TAKER so much lately in my raw foods quest...once I get beyond the detoxing; I will so want to GIVE BACK! The people that have responded to prior sends have sent such terrific advice. You guys are so great!

I started eating totally raw 9 days ago and think I have major detox symptoms...swollen lymph glands, drainage down my throat, sinus cavities that ache...my joints were achy, but they seem a little better now and the sinus cavities don't hurt so much now, but the rest is still pretty miserable...I only seem to want fruit/veggie or fruit smoothies or raw fruit or water. My biggest concern is my fever which, when I lay down to sleep spikes up even higher. Normally, it is low, like 96.5 or so...so now that it's 102.7 I'm worried and feeling awful. I didn't want to take any fever reducers. Is this wise? Suggestions? I'm wondering if I'm getting enough nourishment to fight this off. Do I need more calories and how should I go about getting them, if so? Is there a high calorie raw supplement or something? Do I need to start doing colonics now? Take some sort of herbs? I'm afraid with the fever I'll vomit them up? At least that's one thing I've not had so much of-nausea. All symptoms seem worse later in the day.

Can anyone give advice or point me in the right direction? I really want this to work and fear I've jumped in without really doing my research first.

Thanks in advance!
Sorry for the rambling.

Dear Amanda,

so sorry you aren't feeling well, but I do know that the body will only have a feaver to ward off toxins, so that you can sweat.

If you sauna, then you will sweat, and the detox won't be so bad.

Rinsing off this sweat is very important to your feeling much better.

so, try taking showers, to rinse off this sweat and scrub your body with a loofah or a rough washclothe, to really get rid of the sticky sweat, that was there.

You will be absolutely amazed at how much better you feel.

You can also rinse in lukewarm or cooler water if it makes you feel better, just don't get chilled.

When I first went raw, I was taking a Sauna every day, then I would go and shower off, and I had very little detox symptoms at all.

Hope this helps.

Make sure you are getting plenty of fresh water, and juices, canteloupe juice is really good for this, also orange juice, and grapefruit juice.
