View Full Version : Last question for today-maybe-FREEZER?

As I have been cleaning out my HUGE freezer in basement I have wondered if I will be getting any use outa it when totally raw? I am in process of getting Alissa's book but I recall on her DVD she mentioned something to the fact that frozen raw food not as good once thawed or did I misunderstood? It just would be great to make big batches of stuff to have frozen so I don't go off raw when starving and tired, altho I read I should have tons of energy when raw. :D

Freezing is fine.
It's good to have a backup plan!

Oh yeah. I freeze crackers, burgers, my nuts, my dates, seeds, blended greens for my Green Smoothies...
And I'm talking like 50 pounds of dates, 50 pounds of nuts, etc.

Since it's watermelon season, freeze tons of watermelon. This way you can always have a nice glass of watermelon slushie even in winter!

Alot of raw items are FAR cheaper when bought in bulk, like dates and nuts.
So I think freezer space is VERY helpful in those situations, especially if you're making this a life-long commitment like I am.
I buy bulk:
frozen berries from costco
frozen peas
macadamia nuts
other nuts too
dates
bananas for ice cream/smoothie

And then there is always room for recipes.

How else will you make ice cream? :D

I've put two bananas in there half an hour or so ago and I'm waiting a little longer until they are nearly frozen and then I'll throw them in the blender for some wonderful banana ice cream. :)

Where are you buying 50 lbs worth of dates from?
