I know there is a fasting bandit thread, or maybe that is different than juicing? Anways, that thread is way too long and hard to keep up. I thought maybe we could break it into a monthly thread?

Okay, Monday, July 30th will be my first day of 100% juicing. I juiced 3 bushes of collard greens, a bush of arugula, 4 apples and mixed it in with Bolthouse Farms Blueberry juice. I tried juicing wheatgrass, but my juicer couldn't break it up. Oh, well.

First day of juice smoothies, not bad, but I snacked on some nuts, because it felt like the smoothies was never enough. Or I just had the sensation to chew on something!

I am scared that I will get board drinking the same juice day to day. Oh, I forgot to drink tea and water!

hey there - check out Gwena's blog! SHe said that she added coconut oil, hemp seed oil or bee pollen to her smoothies to aid with satiety during the juice feasting.

I am starting a water fast today, 8/1/2007. Will only add lemon or lime, and also drink 1-2 oz of wheatgrass daily. Please wish me luck.

Goodluck teamrose! :)

Morning Ruby, I love your pic. I've been wanting to tell you that the past few times I've read one of your posts. :)

Day 2. Wicked cravings last night, but I pushed right through them. Not too hungry this morning, I know that the first few days are the worst. I'm already feeling more calm and serene. Can someone tell me how to feel like this all the time?!??!!!! I guess fasting for the rest of my life isn't really an option.

Is part of juicing is that over time you will lose your appetite?

Oh, yes, I believe so! I have a very large appetite and have not lost all the weight I want, even eating raw for over 2 1/2 years. This is b/c I overeat, even raw foods. I am usually SO crabby and ravenous by lunchtime, you don't want to mess with me.

But now, day 5 of juice fasting, I have very little appetite at all and it feels WONDERFUL! :)

Well I would like to join you guys :) I am beginning tomorrow, I will say I am doing a 92 day juice fast/feast, as if I aim high, I usually do better than if I aim low, lol.
What are you fasting on exactly rawmommie?

rasiaca~I was fasting on fruit and veggi juices. I broke my fast this morning, I'm having some issues with being lightheaded and decided that a week was a great accomplishment. I'll be fasting again at the autumnal equinox and subsequent solstices though! There aren't a lot of people posting in here right now, I didn't get too many replies when fasting. Good luck to you!!!

Do you add olive oil, flaxseed oil or coconut oil in your juices? I do, so my body has some fat to absorb since juicing is extremely low in calories. Just one tablespoon will do.

No, I didn't. I'll try to coconut oil next time and see if that helps! Thanks
