Have you had coconut kefir before and how perishable is perishable? Most things that need to be kept chilled are ok if they are out for a little bit at least. Although I bought this coconut kefir and then afterwards I still had a ton of errands to go do before I could get home. I didn't really think about it, it was just the first store on my list. Afterwards I noticed that my car got really hot when I was in the stores and the coconut kefir was a little warm and no longer cold. It says on the Bottle - Keep Refrigerated - EXTREMELY PERISHABLE. It was out of the fridge for 2-3 hours. Do you think that it is still safe to drink?

Also, is the kefir starters out there that they use to culture the coconut water vegan?

And, can you use it to culture things as a starter like cheeses, cream cheese and fermented vegetables etc, in place of a probiotic?

I'd say toss it. Foods that are perishible are safe at room temp. for up to 2 hours only. And that's only room temp. Not a hot car. Next time, bring an insulated bag or cooler and some blue ice.
