3 lbs of them. 9 cups.

He is awesome and goes to the farmers market for me all the time. I will have no problem telling him to look for raw ones next time, but is it really going to hurt me if I eat these? I dont want to hurt his feelings...

Would he have to know whether you ate them or not? Maybe, if you think it would hurt his feelings, you could use them in gift packages for people, or in some recipe for someone else that you will not eat..lol..

I think eating a few would not "hurt" a person, say, if your dad was standing right there and you were wanting him to know you appreciate his thoughtfulness.and ate a few..lol..but the whole three lbs..maybe stretched out ..lol..but, of course, it is up to you and your degree of rawness..and your relationship with your dad..so many variables..and only you can decide how to handle it.

I am going to be visiting my family in early September and my Dad always takes us out for a big meal. He notices whethwer others are enjoying their meals and what they are eating etc..you know..and I have been kind of wondering off and on how it will go..what I will do. I have decided to do my "best" but not to make being "perfectly" raw more important than the people and the time spent together...

It sounds like you have a great Dad..and that you are sensitive enough that you will figure out how to handle it...and next time, he will get you Raw ones..LOL.. :)

Awh, thank you. He's seriously the most awesome man EVER. He's 73 and comes home with bags of raw fruits and veggies...he tries so hard to help with whatever I am doing, even if he doesn't completely understand it.

I'm SOOOO lucky. :)

Whoa, 3 lbs... that's a lotta nuts!

Sorry.. bad movie reference.. ahem! Moving on.. :D Well, I doubt it'd hurt to eat a few of them, I mean at least they're vegan and not really bad for you. Maybe you could give some away to friends/family? Or explain to your dad how much you appreciate it, but 3 lbs is a bit too much for you to finish on your own since you're eating raw foods now, and ask if he wants to share some of them or if you could cook something for him using the almonds. It's probably best to let him know so he won't keep buying you non-raw things. But yeah, it's so hard to turn something down when people do such nice things!

Excellent! Raw almonds are going to be hard to find come September!

But back to your question about roasted nuts--

I had some roasted and lightly salted cashews one morning and I was sick as a dog alllll day from it! I could just feel them sitting like a brick in my stomach, oh it was awful!
So, no matter how delicious roasted nuts may taste, they just don't feel good
