View Full Version : Is uncomfortable detox really necessary?

Revvell interviewed Victoria Boutenko pretty recently (I saw the recording on her site and listened to it), and Victoria suggested that our body wants bad stuff to come out in our bowel movements. She said if we are getting enough fiber from green smoothies that our body can immediately use, then there is no reason to have detox symptoms in our face and eyes and outward body.

What she said (as usual) made sense. I have been drinking more and more green smoothies (I'm up to about a quart a day), and I'm finding that I'm feeling better and better. The bad stuff really is quickly and efficiently being removed through my BM's.

While I do welcome detox, I really don't welcome it through an eye infection or rash if I could just come out the other end.

Just thought I would throw that out there. :):D

Makes sense to me. The difficulty I see here is that so many people have ab-used (mis-used) their bodies with drugs, alcohol, nicoteine (sp), sodas, caffeine, etc. and when the body does detox it will come out anyway it can if options are available.

I like her idea of doing green smoothies for 2-3 months before going totally raw. I'm doing a lot of research right now about preparing to do things and one thing people don't prepare for is going raw... Victoria's solution will work for many methinks.

Good post.... and thank you for listening. :)

I like the idea of green smoothies for 2-3 months before going raw too. Going raw too quickly ends up in defeat. Gradually adding in more raw is what is working for me. :)

That's a great tip. I'm trying to go 100% but have had a few setbacks. I'm fine while living by myself, but the weekends with the family are tough.

I've been eating monster salads again for some reason, but I have noticed when I increase my green smoothies I feel really great. I do think they minimize detox through other -- let's say portals. I think there's a lot of truth to Victoria Boutenko's findings.
